Park Hotel — Restaurant in Maryborough

Would strongly recommend to find another place to eat and enjoy a meal and drink!!!

Well very very disappointing service or lack thereof. Rang up to book a table on Monday for the coming Saturday night(Due to the coming weekend being that of the RACV Energy Breakthrough). Arrived to find out the table reserved had been given to another group who had just sat down there without prior booking. The staff then set 2 round tables which is not ideal as people end up with their backs to each other.

No attempt was made to ask the other patrons to move to outside or another table. (They hadn’t yet ordered anything at this point).

When I questioned the young waitress if they would be able to at least provide a small discount or couple of free drinks I was told by the staff member she would check with her manager. The manager (an older lady) came and told me rather aggressively that, they could do no such thing as it was not their fault. Also, that they have had plenty of business over the past few days so didn't need our business. Better still if I didn't like it then leave!

I found this very disappointing to see such poor customer service. Shortly after when purchasing a drink from the Bar I was asked by (I assume the manager) what the issue was. I explained this and he reiterated that no way could they ever provide a discount or free drink of any kind. He even went as far as to say call it even as "your mate" had helped himself to a beer the night before. I was gobsmacked with this I was wasn’t even there the previous night and had no idea what he was on about. At that point I gave up as I was talking to someone who wasn’t listening.

Certainly not the way to be doing business and I for one will not be going there and I would go out of my way to recommend against going there as there are much better places to go and eat and actually be able to enjoy the service.

When we arrived there was no one around to seat us. I ordered a vegetarian meal which took over an hour to get to me and instead it was a meat dish. So I took it back. The staff were very unimpressed about fixing the order. Then another 20 minutes to get my vegie meal (everyone else had finished their meals by now) it was bland and full of mostly pumpkin the pasta sheets were soggy and there was no sauce between the layers. When I spoke to the staff they were not interested no apologies nothing. My partners steak was covered in 2 inches of fat so not much steak left after that was trimmed off and over cooked. Others at the table complained about chicken over cooked and hard...DONT waste your money I will never come back here. We used to eat here regularly but its gone down hill...

Fantastic outdoor area to welcome you to the bistro, boasting with space for smokers and outdoor drinkers, even a tv on the wall (I think they turn it on). The meal I ordered was a chicken schnitzel with chips & veg plus mushroom sauce and traditional gravy. The schnitzel was crispy to perfection, the carrots and chips were great too and the mushroom sauce wasn't too bad. An overload of beans and 2 potatoes with my chips!! I wouldn't put potatoes with bistro steam veg when the other side is meant to be a carb. Traditional gravy was definitely not homemade. Customer service was fantastic from bar staff to wait staff.
