As dog owners, Maryborough felt unwelcoming, unfriendly and alienating. Dogs are not allowed down the main street. In a confusing (to say the least) and completely contradictory policy, the local caravan park allows dogs. Of course you canāt, and wouldnāt, want to leave your dog in the car or caravan while going to the main street, so whatās the point? I would have thought getting tourism going would be a key strategy, not hanging out ādogs not welcomeā sign. We were all set to stay here, but youāve driven us away - there are plenty of other towns that are far more welcoming.
