The Grain Store Bakehouse — Restaurant in Melbourne

Have been coming here since I was a kid and now I live out of the area. The last two times I’ve been there I’ve been overcharged on both occasions. I don’t know it’s a scam or a new scheme but I can’t be the only one. I brought it up the last time and they where like well sandwiches are expensive. I ended up getting my money back but what a farce! They don’t have a board up for there add ons on sandwiches so it’s hard to argue with them. Such a shame for what was once a great bakery. Now I’ll never go back and neither will my friends and family...

Walked in at 2.30pm on the dot on a Monday, I was the only customer in the store. I asked for a sandwich to be made as I saw all the ingredients still on display (some with glad wrap over them). I said 'oh, you've already started putting things away, if it's too late no stress.' The girl said 'yeah we have, sorry about that. Hope that's ok.' So I walked out. This is the first time I've been disappointed at the Grain Store. No effort whatsoever made by the 2 girls in the store....

Travelled far and wide across regional Victoria for the best pie, and who knew it happened to be right here in Doncaster. The beef selection of meat pies and top notch, one of the best in Victoria in my opinion. The pastry could use slight improvement but overral the quality is outstanding. So far tried the Beef n Mushroom, Ned Kelly, Beef n Cheese and Beef n Curry. All great! I dont however recommend the chicken pies,...
