I had the pleasure of dining at 8 Oaks Cafe today (8th February, 2023), and had an absolutely wonderful experience!
The cafe is set in a beautiful atmosphere right next to St Mary's church, the space sits in the centre hub of leafy Sunbury at 7 O'Shannesy Street. There are park like gardens surrounding this beautiful cafe and the beautiful original stone church building is a wonderfully nostalgic backdrop.
The gates are open to the rear so you can come in and bring your pets. You can eat inside with the beautiful generous windows which allows one to enjoy the views or you can eat outside and enjoy the sunshine when weather permits.
Sam took my order. He has a very friendly and welcoming approach, with the chef not missing a beat as the orders flew in. The barista makes one of the best coffees I have tasted and my order came out and was melt in your mouth delicious! I ordered the ham, cheese and tomato crossaint. It was toasted to perfection and brought out with a smile. The best tasting croissants and the quality ingredients such our local Victorian Istra bacon and sausages, were all delicious, healthy, and freshly prepared. I then ordered a few more dishes which included the Ortolana Panini, which was enjoyed by my eldest son and my youngest loved his ham and cheese croissant.
Sam, never forgot my name and made me feel very welcome with the attitude of 'nothing is too much', despite being incredibly busy.
If you are looking for a place where you will be welcomed and feel connected to some incredibly dedicated staff, I highly recommend 8 Oaks Cafe. This is now my favourite cafe. See you again soon!...
Read moreHaving eaten at 8 Oaks previously I took a visitor from out of town to eat there for lunch. Not only was I extremely disappointed with today’s experience I was embarrassed that my visitor was given such a negative experience in my home town. The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful not just one person but each person we dealt with. The service was non existent, no one approached when we entered, get your own water, no cutlery canteen on the table. When ordering our meals and drinks from the menu we were told ‘we don’t do that’ even though the items were on the menu. When my visitor asked about ingredients in an item the response was ‘I don’t know, I don’t work in the kitchen’. When placing the order it was requested that the coffee come before the food, this did not happen. When the food was delivered we were asked ‘do you still want the wine?’ Obviously, as it had been paid for. We then had to go and ask for the coffee after the meal. Overall it was an extremely unpleasant experience and one that I will not...
Read moreThe food is good and everything was good but the customer service was pathetic tiday. The waitress just kicked us out because a group of 8 people are coming and she needs our table. When we said we are almost finished she had the audacity to say they are coming in 5min. Since when we disrespect people who are eating for ghose who are not even in the cafe. I don’t have any complaints about food or anything but we felt we were targeted put of all people who were eating. @to the owner, may be ur waitress can use her brain and find table for people once they arrive instead of discriminating people who are eating and can’t even give them 5min ? I left my food and coffee just because of this pathetic behaviour, I could have fought but there were happy people enjoying their breakfast and I didn’t want to ruin their morning like ur waitress ruined ours. Time to learn to...
