30/10/22 - DO NOT GO. MANAGEMENT CHANGED. we had a very bad experience this time and I firmly believe the management has changed. We ordered tawa paneer and it was served in a normal bowl whereas for other tables it was served in a tawa. When we asked they said it was a mistake by the chef. Unacceptable. Next we ordered Gobi manchurian and it had massive pieces which was undercooked and the raw masala was still there. The manager made a note of all this and came back offering free desserts. We are not sweet eaters and then he just said sorry and left. He said we cannot do anything more other than offering sweets. Two other tables also had issues which they were complaining about. For one of them the breads were so crispy and thin. Naans are not supposed to be crispy. So please avoid going to this restaurant. We went recently and their food is awesome as before. The most improved aspect was their servicing this time. The guy called manpreet was very good and helped us with the table we wanted and took care of us very well. Hats off to him. The highlight dish for us today was the tawa paneer and chilli chicken. The customer servicing is below par and below standard. The quality of the food is really good and no complaints. We always hesitate to go and dine in just because some of their staff are not doing their job well

Have had mixed results from this place through UberEats - one order was cancelled, yesterday’s order came with a note claiming they’d tried to call me twice to substitute a particular item I’d ordered as they’d run out (not true as I have no missed calls from UberEats or this ‘restaurant’ and I had placed my order at around 5.30 pm!!!) ….and this is what I got as my Veg Chowmein - a whole pile of onions, a few strips of green capsicum & a pile of brown noodles! No sign of any ‘shredded vegetables’ as per menu. Extremely disappointing experience. The one redeeming point? The dhal tadka!

This was the first time trying Indian food at a proper Indian restaurant, and I was not disappointed! The food was flavourful, spicy, tasty and cooked so well! Their Naan and Roti were also cooked beautifully! And the sauces and mixes used for the chicken dishes were very good! I was obsessed with their Mango Lassi (some of the best I’ve tried so far). I would definitely come here again for their chicken dishes (Mild Chicken Malai Tikka, Mild Chick Saag), rice, Samosa and their Lassi! However I was not a big fan of their panipuri and dessert dishes but my brother was!

I hope the owner take this seriously as we are genuinely concerned for the brand aangan We absolutely love Footscray , derrimut and Shepparton as well have always been in awe of the brand . However this one is a shocker and it’s not the food . It’s inexperienced staff which makes the issue as soon as you sit down . I hate doing reviews but I wish I could msg the owner as this one is not aangan standard . Their biggest downfall is the manager of the place , a lady with lots of make up is so arrogant and rude to her staff on the floor and to customers too, so much she makes fun of people . We have seen her in derrimut as well and even though the food was great we didn’t want to go because of her . She acts like an owner and has no idea what customer service is . Times are changing your food has been great for years but customer service now a days is the key . I remember we were told aangan hires experienced people , trains them etc however at bundoora it was not the case . Looked like they are just trying to save every single cent from day one . Manger with make up : rude and arrogant please keep her away Guy in the bar with chewing gum in his mouth , that is not how you treat customer Waiters : students , uni people with no experience , asked them is your fish or prawn fried or grilled , they said no idea !! I mean really ! They don’t know table numbers and roam with food in resteraunt and going to tables to ask where to go and what food to take . They didn’t know what the curry is what it has as we had some allergies

Table are too small for 4 people to eat on it Portions small and prices are high .

Your waiters beg for reviews , get some stands on tables to ask people to review , they say please review us as will be helpful for us , you never beg reviews from your customer and I could see the lady manager was getting the staff to do it , please send her to a hospitality school to understand what hospitality is . That’s why you have so many stars below as no one will give bad reviews on the face and great resteraunts use the reviews to fix things not show off people . We were quiet observers of the resteraunt and that’s why it was heart breaking even the food quality was just about ok .

I hope the owner reads this and fixes it , we love aangan but this one is the worst than a street style restaraunt, THE AREA BUNDOORA is not like your typical Footscray and derrimut , it’s a high fly area so you need the best people there . I don’t live here but we were in the area and thought to go in as we saw on Face book .

Word of advice from a true aangan fan , get rid of that lady with lots of make up , who is the manager , she acts like the owner and in your industry there are no owners , it’s customer first she is arrogant , a wanna be and has no respect for people . I met the owner of aangan Footscray ages ago can’t remmner his name and was the most humble person , I hope success has not ruined their minds . Hence owner please you need some experienced staff and a great floor manager to run the show at bundoora . You are great chain just don’t be like every other cheap...

Me and my partner went for dinner at aangan bundoora. It was our first time in this location as usually we go to the one that’s In Hawthorn. Hawthorn’s aangan never ever disappointed ever and the food is always so delicious . I used to always go there during my Uni days which was the very reason to have chosen bundoora’s as it was close to our house.

We ordered amristari fish, paneer 65 for starters Chandigarh rose garden for drinks Chicken biryani and lamb rogan josh for main course - before I review the above the overall experience was so disappointing and waste of $117.97. Utter waste of the money & time.

The drinks were $17each and it was supposed to have gin in it however the drink tasted like rose sugar syrup served in big glass. There was no taste of whatsoever gin that’s supposed to be in this cocktail. Worst drink I’ve ever had in Melbourne and the expensive one too. I wouldn’t even pay $2 for this.

The starter amritsari fish was good as we had asked the staff member to have the fish done well .

Paneer chilli was so hot that it upset my stomach and I had to take meds. It felt they just tossed in couple of hot sauces and served it.

Coming to the main-course , the chicken biryani- the chicken was hard . It wasn’t tender and was very smelly. Flies were landing on it. The fried onions as well. They were extremely hard to chew on. The mirchi ka salan is a disaster lol. It had no taste .

Lamb rogan josh- only the lamb pieces were tender .

The lady who served us had a pleasant smile and she was very proactive which made our experience not so bitter.

We dint even take the leftovers to home. We just left the food and felt so bad that it was wasted.

We will never be coming here again nor recommending this place to our circle.

IMMENSELY DISAPPOINTED FOR THE...

I had a very bad experience at Angan Bundoora. I am giving one star because I can’t give zero…The staff were rude and I felt they didn't understand that they are in the hospitality business. If they don't like their job, they shouldn't be working there and treating customers who have come to have food and good time poorly.

The service was delayed, and we were not provided with proper cutlery. We had to remind the staff about our order. We understand that they may be low on staff, but their attitude was unfriendly. It felt like a bunch of liars were operating the restaurant.

While we were asking for details, two girls were giggling and laughing at us, which was very disrespectful. When we mentioned we would write a review, one of the girls said this was the first time they were getting a complaint and that they never received any. I would suggest they check their bad review list and properly train their staff. The number one rule in hospitality is customer service and good food. No wonder the restaurant was empty.

The restaurant was almost empty, but when we asked to sit at a table away from the counter, the staff said all the tables were booked. We were there for nearly two hours, and no one else came in. This shows the lack of flexibility and transparency.

When we asked for the manager's contact information, the staff said they couldn't give it to us. We called to ask for the manager's email, and the same girl refused to help and hung up on us.

It seems like the staff has no supervision, which makes the place feel unwelcoming. Angan had a good reputation in Melbourne long ago….a good name, but the Angan Bundoora service is the worst I've ever seen. I felt like a second-class citizen. I recommend avoiding...
