Ordered delivery via Uber Eats 20/4/2020, was a little hesitant due to the price but went ahead anyway... what a mistake that was. Ordered a serving of vegetables with cashew nuts, the menu stated the meal was cooked in an oyster and Chinese white wine sauce, however upon opening the container, there appeared to be absolutely no sauce (or moisture) on the vegatables at all, save for a thin film of slime (what I presumed to be corn starch) that was supposed to pass as "flavouring". I would have achieved the same results by heating a bag of McCain's frozen mixed veggies and throwing a handful of cashews into them.

Presumed there was an issue with the order so called the restaurant, and was told "that's how the meal comes" so naturally I explained the menu was misleading and that this was a pretty disappointing outcome, to which I was given an apathetic "Sorry" and no more.

Ordered a Nasi Goreng on the same order that was stated to come with chicken, however the rice was bland and tasted vaguely of fish, there were a few solids in the meal that may have passed for chicken, but I was unable to confirm...

I wish I could give less than 1 star, but I suppose I didn't have to cook and that accounts for something, although I wish I had of now.

If you are trying to decide whether or not you want to order food from here, trust your indecision and move on to the next option, unless you are a fan of paying premium prices for...

It was a hit and miss! Chef special Beef Bao - there was very little meet between the fat Bao, so the ratio was completely off, and there was no sauce in there making it a dry Bao.

Hainanese Chicken Rice - The broth was amazing, The chicken was under-seasoned, the rice had no flavour whatsoever, especially with with chicken rice you expect all the aromats and ginger to hit you with the tasty bits. It was disappointing

Satay chicken - One of the best ones I have had, Most places the chicken tends to be dry and hard in the skewer, but the chicken was tender, Smoky and the sauce was yummm!

Nasi Lemak with Curry chicken - One of the better curry chickens I have had, and their anchovy sambal was strong and spicy, so if you like anchovy, it's your jam!

Thai iced milk tea - Was a miss, it was okay

Malay iced kopi - I like my coffee strong, and this was exactly...

Loved the internal decor. Disappointed with the food. Prob won’t be back again.

Service - she was friendly yet not professional - she brought me water but no glass/cup - in the end I got up and got one myself. Not many customers yet lacking customer service.

Customer next to me told me she requested same item from menu as me - which is one of their signature dishes - we were both told they ran out of ingredients. I didn’t care but the other lady was disappointed. I asked for another dish as well, also not available. Hmmm … then I sat up.

I asked for kopi or teh tarek and told that this is not a typical Malaysian restaurant - I almost laughed out loud - sorry - dishes in menu and decor spoke for themselves.

I ordered mee Siam. Hmmm … too dry and no Malaysian kick - perhaps that was also...

Tried the $15.90 lunch today - better value than many of the food court options, and good quality meats! Sizable portions, super tasty, and balanced with vegetables - notably, they didn't skimp on the quantity and quality of meat! Curry chicken with dry noodles is a new dish to me - while not Instagrammable, noodles had punch, were well cooked, and the slight sweet soy flavour paired well with the curry. The boneless & skinless chicken thigh fillets is a good cut and there was so much meat we had some left over after we finished the noodles. The pork had nice flavour as well and there was a good portion. Only thing is the meat was a tad dryer than my preference (I cook sous vide often). Definitely an option to consider when in the area.

Our first experience with Ang Ang. We have travel to many Malaysian/Singapore restaurants or eating place and so know our taste bud well. The place is beautfully decorated and make you feel you are back in home town (of course over decorated with the lamps above). We ordered char kuay teow aka Fried Kuay Teow. Verdict (***) generous with the prawns and fish cakes. However it lack the strong wok taste and also missing the small fried pork cubes (these add a good taste overall). The fish head bee hoon soup. Verdict (***). The fish meat is generous however the soup lacks the strong evaborated milk taste. So were the food localised for the local? Do try out but prepared to pay a higher $$ for their food.
