We recently attended as a group of 5 for dinner and drinks. The Cocktails did not disappoint. We arrived at 7 and left around 11.30pm. The rooftop dining and bar had a great buzz and atmosphere, it was a little brisk and we managed a table near the heaters thankfully. We ordered early after our second round of drinks about 8 but the wait for food really was the only thing we could fault. It took Forever. Much longer than it should have. We ordered 2 mains and we ordered several items from the Nibbles menu
Darcy was kind enough to make virgin cocktails for the pregnant mum in our group so she could feel included. Sam took our food order and followed up when it still had not arrived. We had another 2 rounds of drinks and really needed food. By that time it was very busy with people coming in for just Friday night drinks. It was about 10 by the time we got our food. It was late. We had already ordered a 5th round of cocktails when dinner arrived and Sam had offered to Comp us a round for the food being so late but by the time we ate and drank our current drinks, they had called last drinks and we felt a bit cheeky after for the free round at that stage.
The food was lovely but nibbles are just that. Small sizes which is a little disportioned to the price but very nice. $10 for a small bowl of chips is a little rough. The popcorn chicken was pleasant but at $15 it seemed a little light on serving size. We ordered a tomato dish which was $10-15. The halloumi sliders were awesome but you only get 2 so if sharing itâs perfect but we split between 3. $15. We also ordered the brewers board $30 which had a nice arrangement of items but tiny chunks of cheese. Even between 2 people it would be a few bites of cheese each. The other girls ordered parmas
Cocktails were wonderful. We had mojitos, sour apple dacquiris (a favourite on our table) & French martini (amazing!) 2 of us tried the Elderfashioned which was served with rosemary / it wasnât really to our liking but not to say it wasnât good. Ranging from $19-20 they certainly didnât lack flavour and the staff were very good getting them out.
We would definitely go back again and give it another try. Just would be more ontop of the food order! If that changes and the serving size of food is more inline with prices it would be 5 stars!
But the staff are absolutely wonderful! Great atmosphere and need to take cash to tip the staff as now with tap there is no way to adjust amount for tips. So make sure you put...

Rating: â ââââ
I recently visited The Suburban Rooftop & Dining with a group of nine people for lunch on Saturday, October 7th. While the initial impression of the place was positive, the overall experience left much to be desired.
Upon arrival, we were promptly seated, but unfortunately, that was the last attention we received from the staff. Despite our reservation for 12:30 pm, it took nearly 40 minutes for someone to come and take our drink and food orders. We were left wondering if they had forgotten about us.
Furthermore, the table was set for 12 people, even though we had booked for nine. It would have been more convenient for the staff to communicate with us and inquire about our readiness to order or if we were still waiting for more guests to arrive.
When the food finally arrived, it was a huge letdown. The chargrilled squid was served cold, and the chicken parma was so overcooked that it was practically inedible. We brought these issues to the attention of our waitress, who merely acknowledged our feedback without offering an apology or a replacement for the subpar dishes. As a result, one of our guests, Steve, went without a meal, which is highly disappointing.
Additionally, the noise level in the restaurant was unbearable. It was so loud that conversation at our own table became extremely difficult, undermining the overall dining experience.
In conclusion, while The Suburban Rooftop & Dining may have an appealing ambiance, our visit was marred by poor service, cold and overcooked food, and excessive noise. The lack of prompt attention, lackluster response to feedback, and Steve's unfortunate experience without a meal were major disappointments. Given these issues, I can only award this establishment a single star.

Read moreFrom the moment we walked into Suburban Rooftop, we were treated like VIPs. The customer service was hands-down some of the best Iâve ever experienced at a restaurant. Every staff member we encounteredâfrom the host to the serversâwas warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
We arrived a little early for our reservation, but the hostess was incredibly accommodating and got us seated with a great view almost immediately. Our server came over right away, introduced herself with a smile, and took the time to walk us through the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences. She checked in often, but never in an intrusive wayâjust the perfect balance of attentiveness and giving us space to enjoy our evening.
Even when the restaurant started getting busier, the quality of service never slipped. Our water glasses were always full, empty plates cleared promptly, and our food was brought out at just the right pace. The manager even stopped by our table to ask how everything was, which really showed that they care about their guests' experiences.
One of the highlights was how accommodating the staff were to dietary needsâour friend has a gluten allergy, and the kitchen went above and beyond to customize a dish for her without hesitation.
Itâs clear that customer satisfaction is a priority at Suburban Rooftop. Not only is the food excellent and the ambiance stunning, but the people truly make it a five-star experience. In an industry where great service can be hard to come by, Suburban Rooftop sets the bar high. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just grabbing dinner with friends, this place is a must-visit. Weâll definitely...
