If you're looking for a cozy, casual spot to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and some tasty breakfast fare, then you might want to check out this cafe. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the friendly and welcoming service of the staff. They were attentive, helpful, and made sure I felt right at home.

The coffee was definitely a standout for me. The baristas clearly know their craft and take pride in brewing a high-quality cup. I opted for a latte, which was perfectly balanced and had just the right amount of foam.

I also tried the scrambled eggs, which were cooked to perfection. They were light and fluffy, with just the right amount of seasoning. It was clear that the kitchen puts a lot of care and attention into their dishes, as everything I tried was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared.

But what really set this cafe apart was the live music on Sunday. It was a real treat to enjoy some great tunes while sipping my coffee and digging into my breakfast. The musicians were talented and engaging, and it really added to the relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere of the cafe.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee, delicious breakfast options, and a fun and lively vibe. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the live music was the cherry on top. I'll definitely be...

This Review is about Management, not the staff.

Firstly I just want to say I have been coming to The Apollo Cafe for the last 2 years since moving into the area, this has been my daily coffee, the people is what has made me come back. they provide such an authentic experience and they have never failed to make me laugh.

Recently due to new ownership the place has change drastically changed, the new owner/ manager has a very dickens / micromanaged approach, when they are in they sit in the corner overseeing the cafe like a roman empire looking at there spoils. This puts the staff and even myself on edge as I feel like my interaction with their team are being noted and reviewed.

My advise to management is trust your team that you have left, as they all do a wonderful job. example, when Russell was there he knew every regular customer by name and order, he set the tone of the place and led by example, not sitting on laptop with closed of body language. I do hope you take this onboard and reflect on your style as this contributing to the lose of some amazing staff.

With all the recent staff changes and the change in atmosphere, I have started to walk further afield to other cafes in the area.

And to the amazing Apollo team, thank you for all the fun chats and giggles over the years, keep being yourselves and you...

Wandered in, no staff to welcome or seat you. Eventually sat down by myself. 10 mins later ended up wandering up to the counter wondering if I was supposed to order there though I had no menu. Got told it is table service and to sit down again. Waited another 10 minutes until someone eventually came to take my order.

Five minutes later, the barista (different to the cook who took my order) came over with menus and asked for my order again. I told her Iโ€™ve already ordered a coffee. She asked me what I ordered because no one had put the order through.

The coffee was decent enough. I then ordered a bacon and egg roll to takeaway. It was a bit burnt.

The barista at the counter took forever to ring up my bill and almost charged me twice for my breakfast roll.

Behind the counter you can see the cook. He is rushing around and there is another guy just standing there chatting with him, like a friend or something, clearly not helping and obviously distracting.

This cafe needs more staff with more experience and some better processes. Overall coffee is fine but donโ€™t expect it in a hurry. Food is lack lustre and not that great (some other reviews with photos have also...

A hidden gem that, going by the reviews so far, seems to be familiar with locals but not so much with tourists like me. What a pity - this place is great! Friendly and attentive staff, spacious and clean interior, great coffee and food options. I had the smoked salmon with potato pancakes, with optional poached eggs (extra $4 but it needs it), served with a creme fraiche sauce. Glad I did include the eggs - LOOK AT THE YOLK ACTION ON THOSE EGGS in photos, they were cooked perfectly. It was rich and gooey and wholesome and well balanced. I probably would have pegged for a tiny bit more seasoning, but that is maybe just a personal preference. Oh, and this place was based in a building that used to be an old school muscle gym. Nice industrial decor which fit in with the building. Some minor criticisms - toilets have lights operated on a pretty dumb motion sensor, meaning it's a race against the clock if you don't want to fumble in the dark for the door handle. Also, music a little intrusive, but I don't really like piped cafe music as a route, so again, maybe that's just me.

Newly established cafe in West Melbourne Discovered this great little cafe last week. its on Hawke St in the old Apollo Gym site just up from Adderley St. Nicely set out with spacious tables and an edgy inner Melbourne feel. The menu is not huge but quite a variety of dishes to select from. Staff are super friendly and efficient. I had poached eggs and mushrooms... Eggs just right and the mushrooms were absolutely delicious!!! Partner was able to select a nice fully vegetarian breakfast. What i like most is that they've got proper doors and they keep the temperature just right (which is my big gripe about the more established breaky places on Errol St!) Now my go-to breakfast place... haven't tried lunch there yet UPDATE: went back for lunch. Had a bowl of tofu, greens, brown rice, snow peas, pickled vegetables.. very filling and delicious
