Athos Cate Deli is more than just a restaurant—it feels like coming home for dinner. Suzzi’s warmth and generosity make every customer feel like family, offering genuine hospitality that turns a meal into an experience.
The food is simply outstanding. Some of my favourites include the Thessalonika Eggs, Roast Goat, Mediterranean salads, house-cured salmon, and Greek potatoes—but honestly, there’s not a single dud on the menu! Every dish is crafted with care by master chef Harry, blending Greek flavours with Turkish and Syrian influences.
What truly sets Athos apart is their commitment to fresh, quality ingredients. Many of their herbs and vegetables come straight from their home and restaurant garden, lovingly tended by John. The result? Every bite bursts with authentic, vibrant flavours.
If you're looking for a place where food, community, and tradition come together beautifully, Athos Cate Deli is it. Highly...
Read moreTook mum here with my family. Did book a table. Mum is a Greek migrant and said this was the best tasting food she’s ever had. She normally eats little and polished off the Greek style breakfast which was big and fantastic. I had the lamb cutlets. $32 and got SIX of the best cooked flavoursome cutlets I’ve ever had. Bit pink in the middle, yet fat on bone rendered enough to nibble off. The sauce with it was fantastic. Salad and dressing was fresh and so so tasty. Had some dolmades which were fantastic. Wife had crab omelette. Generous size and bread. She was sharing it around. Woman that served us had a big smile and brought the specials board to us so we could read it closely. Kids had pitas that they loved too.
We want to go back soon.
Atmosphere is 4 stars as the place is a little small and normal cafe style when you walk in.
Food justifies all the hype I’ve seen in good food guide. We left very...
Read moreService was amazing, friendliest people and great recommendations and explanation of the display and menu! Spoilt for choices here, the mains we had were the rabbit stew (served on some currant/raisin rice?) which complimented it SO well, and the goat with labneh and peas which was absolutely divine - the meat was so tender and falling off the bone!! The bread was also perfect to mop up all the sauce!
We also had their beef dolmades (which was rolled by the owners mother!!) was also very tasty! Their coffee is also amazing, had no space for some dessert but will be back to try the other special menu items!
