Gusto Bakery Strathmore — Restaurant in Melbourne

After doing some research to find a good bakery to try on the weekend this one had the best reviews/rating. Walking in you'll notice possibly the cleanest shop you've ever walked into. I was also greeted by the friendly staff who are polite and willing to offer advice about their offerings. We shared the sausage roll, mince and cheese pie, pepper steak pie and a custard donut. The sausage roll had tiny bits of onion but was a little to "wet" for my liking. This made the roll squishy without any real bite. The cheese and mince pie was cold, but the flavours were OK. The pepper steak pie was filled with chucks of steak, but it lacked gravy and only had a slight peppery taste. This last year I bought such nice cskes fir quite a few occasions. The big cakes about 5 and normak cakes eight or more, milktarts and small tarts toi many even koesisters. I recommended the bakery and know of 4 special occasion big cakes that was bought on my recommendations... I ordered a chocolate cake R400 for Saturday for my own birthday. What a disaster. A beautiful looking cake, but when we cut it, it was unbeatable dry and hard. What a waste. I send them a whattsapp and photos on Sunday morning. The reply " we're so sorry". Had to go to Woolworths to get small cake, for some friends that couldn't make it Saturday and came for tea.. Don't think I'll order again frim them 3 slices out of cake and not half of the slices was eaten. Very bad...

Absolutely love Gusto Bakery in Strathmore! Hands down one of the best spots in Melbourne for coffee and baked goods. Their coffee is always spot on. Smooth, rich, and made with real care. Every single thing I’ve tried from here has been absolutely delicious, from the pies and sausage rolls to the vanilla slice and fresh pastries. You can tell everything is made with passion and attention to quality.

But what really makes this place special is the customer service, it’s next level. The team is always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely cares about making your experience great. They know their regulars by name and make everyone feel like part of the Gusto family.
