Probably one of the best coffees I’ve had in this coffee-addicted city of Melbourne. Smooth taste from Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters, with a nice body to it. Love changing to alt milks such as oat or soy as it contains that extra unique creaminess and sweetness without the need for sugar. Cheeseburger toastie (4/5): exactly how it sounds, and tastes even better than your regular cheeseburger. The toastie stays piping hot whilst still maintaining that super crispy buttery and salted sourdough texture. The filling was heavenly, and that gooey cheese was so needed. Found it a bit salty but everything was good as it was. Heard lovely reviews about service, but didn’t quite get the morning greeting I thought I’d get. Interior is so modern and that sage green just gets me going. Food: 4.5 Value: 4 Ambience: 4 Service: 3.5

service is top notch: friendly, prompt and professional. the ‘vibe’ is comfortable, casual, simple, clean, and quick. there are a few tables in door as well as outdoor. popular with small young families (of 3), coffee grab to go, intimate casual brunch for two, well behaved pooches and their owners, etc. coffee is toby estate- smooth: no complaints. coffee price- not above market- surprisingly cheaper than certain local competition. nice place to drop by for a toastie or sourdough with Vegemite and butter, with a coffee.

Creamy cheese. Nice ham. Also had a bite of the cheeseburger toastie, tastes exactly like a cheeseburger, minus the sugar laden bun. The boys liked the added touch of salt on the bread, for me, it was a bit too salty. The granola I’m told was also delicious. The atmosphere inside is very noisy. Have a look at those cute cake pops.

I still remember the first day I walked into Buddy Espresso to get a coffee and a toastie after moving to Strathmore. The coffee was absolutely first class and the toastie was to die for. But the best thing was I got to know the guys at Buddy and we had a great chat and a laugh and they have been taking care of me since. Every time I walk in the coffee is always at that same high standard as the very first time and the food is brilliant and the guys at Buddy always make my experience as good as the first day I ever walked in.
