Yes, the pie and sausage roll were very nice. But the thing that prompted me to write a review was the customer service I received today. I had driven down to the peninsula from the eastern suburbs today because my daughter has been miserable and sick and couldn’t nap. I knew a long drive would put her to sleep so that’s what I did. She woke up and we went for a stroll around Sorrento looking for a bite. After walking into another shop and being blatantly ignored, I walked on and took a chance on Baked in Sorrento. The young woman working the front was so patient in telling me which pies were left and made her recommendations (which I took, they were delicious). She offered to warm up my brownie and did so with a warm smile. She told me to have a lovely day, and even though it has been far from a lovely day, her warmth and kindness has made a difference. I didn’t catch her name, but she was wearing all pink with a ponytail and light coloured hair. Please thank her for her pleasantness and smile. Enjoyed a nice coffee and a party pie in the morning then went back with a friend to have lunch, we asked for the ready made ham and mustard rolls, the couple beside us also ordered rolls, both girls serving grabbed the rolls with their bare hands, no gloves, no tongs, we ordered them fresh the other couple ordered there rolls toasted. The girl serving us then handled money then grabbed her mobile, I th8nk the other couple used a credit card, this is a real issue, how much money did the girls handle before putting their hands all over the rolls, had the girls also used their phones? Tongs or gloves should always be used when handling food particularly if you are touching money and phones. Nice open space with 3 big booths that could accommodate up to 8 people and a large communal table. Food offerings are good with a couple of Budda/Nourish bowls on offer with a nice selection of filled rolls, pies and sausage rolls. The pies are worth trying with nice flavour and the short crust pastry doesn't fall apart when your eating it, they are also at a nice eating temperature not scalding hot. The ham and salad "honey mustard" roll we tried was also enjoyable. Coffee is by Allpress and was ok but I could taste the dark roast (burnt flavour) or a poorly cleaned machine.
