I had breakfast at the Sorrento Social Cafe last Saturday, November 23rd, around 8:30 am, and was thoroughly impressed with the exceptional service I received.
My phone needed charging, and a young chap named Zac went out of his way to help. Without hesitation, he kindly took my phone and charger to the back of the cafe to plug it in for me. When I noticed a spare power point not too far from where I was sitting, I asked Zac if it would be possible to use that instead so I could use my phone while having breakfast.
He warmly obliged, retrieved my phone, and attempted to plug in my charger. Unfortunately, the space around the power point was too tight for my charger, but Zac still gave it a try. When it didn’t work, he immediately returned my phone and charger to the back of the cafe to continue charging without hesitation.
I was genuinely impressed with Zac's willingness to accommodate my request and his friendly, can-do attitude. It's rare to find service like that, and it made my experience all the more enjoyable.
Thank you, Zac, and the Sorrento Social Cafe team, for a great...
Read moreSmall cafe in the Main Street with pleasant indoor and outdoor areas. We received a mice greeting on arrival. Limited menu here, more snacks than meals was my impression. We were after a meal and both chose the mushroom medley with added poached egg. The big brekkie at $24 seemed above tote offs to me. The chosen meal is a good looking dish with three types of lovely mushrooms - Portobello, button and enoki. The mushrooms were brilliantly cooked - they were warm, flavoursome and full of moisture. The other parts of the dish worked well particularly the roasted pine nuts, the beetroot hummus and the excellent toasted bread. The bread would have been very dry however without the yolk from the well cooked egg, so just as well we took the option. Overall, this is a dish that works very well although a little goats cheese might top it off. I found myself wanting more of the dish. It seemed a couple of mouthfuls short of justifying its price tag. Service here was nice throughout. This was a better experience than the earlier reviews had suggested. I’d happily...
Read moreBeen here a few times and usually devour the food before remembering to take a decent photo! Absolutley love the food and space that the beautiful new owners have created here. A delight for all the senses. You literally walk in and feel the weight and noise of the outside world just melt away. The only issue for me is deciding what to have- the menu is so beautifully put together and well thought out. There certainly is something for everyone. Myself a vegan and boyfriend, non-vegan (who loves a big breakfast), both love this place for its divine offerings. Honest and knowledgeable recommendations always available from David and his friendly team if you're ever stuck. And be sure to keep room for a delectably sweet treat at the end, or even better, take one away and eat it on the shore- deliciously good ingredients all 'round! This place is an absolute gem amongst a sea of options. My favourite part about it is the way The Sorrento Social keep food as nourishment at the forefront of their ethos. An experience to taste, feel and remember. Cant wait...
