BBQ Chicken $6 - an easy recommendation!
The chicken is throughly marinated. Its’ bbq sweet and umami flavours are well balanced with the saltiness of soy sauce, little bit of sourness and fatty of home-made pickles and a combination of butter + pate’. Last but not least, a touch of Vietnamese herbs lighten and freshen up the whole bread.
However, I think they can do much better with one more simple improvement. While the BBQ chicken could easily get 8 or 9 out of 10 in my book in term of flavour, the bread can only get an average point ~5. The bread quality is good and pretty authentic, but it’s just so disappointing when an ‘bakery shop’ serving a cool, and soft load of bread instead of a warm, crunchy, and crispy one which would become such a treat in a cool rainy day (such as today) or any other day. Who can say no to the pleasing aroma of a fresh baked load of bread.
Overall, I will definitely come back for more tasty Vietnames Bánh Mì, cuz the rich and well balanced flavours in one here is undeniable. Additionally, the sad truth is ‘a cool bread’ has almost been a normal serving standard around Melbourne. I’m looking forward to a day that truth...

The meat was pretty good, but it was a bit in the milder side in terms of flavour. The crispiness is good, though I’d like it if the pork skin was a bit crispier. The vegetables were very delicious, I prefer it over the meat as it tasted fresh and had more flavour. I didn’t really like the bread a lot, it just tasted like normal bread, not really having the freshness and flavour of other places i’ve been to. But to be fair I came in the late afternoon so maybe the ingredients weren’t as fresh as in the mornings.
