Barpiccolo — Restaurant in Melbourne

We needed a midweek, late night ladies catch up once the kids were all tucked up in bed. We chose a suburb that was vaguely midway between our places that looked good online. Small but has a good vibe. Only 2 other customers in the joint (but it was nearly 9pm on Thursday night). Bartender was friendly. He made some lovely lovely cocktails. Cocktails roughly $25 each (I’d say midrange prices) My aviation is not like I’ve had before (and I’ve had plenty). I couldn’t taste the Maraschino liqueur or the Crème de violette, but it was a tasty and strong variation to an aviation which I still very much enjoyed. My friend had a salted caramel espresso martini which was in point 👌🏼 Sadly no bar food on the menu which is why it gets a 4/5 for me. Hard to drink more than one cocktail without any food...

We are locals in the area who frequent all the local bars. Thought we'd check out BarPiccolo for the first time this arvo and ordered a spicy margarita. Upon receiving the drink it looked like a bourbon, and it tasted like pure sugar and salt. It was un-drinkable. we took it back to the bar and the bar staff refused to remake the drink. we proceeded to walk straight out. as a local i will never return to barpiccolo wost customer...

Superb little place, great for a conversation with a small group of people. Fantastic service by an attentive barman, comfy furniture and moody lighting. Love how it’s not too loud!
