Sushi Wushi — Restaurant in Melbourne

Ordered 6 crispy Chickens 1 Tuna and 1 Prawn Sushi over the phone and was informed it would be 20-30 minutes as the flavour of the night was sushi due to the 36 degree day we were having, which was fine as was not in a rush. When I arrived to pick my order( 40 minutes later)and Mentioned my Name for reference the man tending the phone/register had a look of concern wilsth reading my order docket under his breath to which I exclaimed that that was my order. The man then stated that someone else ordered the identical order...I called him out on it,saying that was impossible and if so that I would go and buy a Tatts ticket if that were true. They kindly expressed my order,however when he called my Name for payment I asked him if the person who had the identical order also was named Michael to which he did not reply and then asked him to be truthful and would accept that they made an error and that a simple acknowledgement and apology would suffice, but he still was insistant that he was being truthfu. I then I asked him to provide me the itemised docket which is generated and provided at payment with all particulars and stated that I'd apologise for being overly suspicious if so, but instead he chose to continue with his deceit. I thanked him and promised I would not be coming back again and told him that he should not be treating his paying customers like fools as much as he believes in his lies... We were excited to try this restaurant as it had one of the highest reviews in the area and the pictures of the food looked really good but unfortunately our experience was the opposite. My bento box was dry, old, messy and didn’t even have the maki that were supposed to be included (it was instead given in a separate box as what seemed like 2 full leftover hand rolls from the day due to their old/dry appearance and taste and it wasn’t even obvious what was in them). The chicken teriyaki don was slightly better in taste but was more of a pulled meat rather than full chicken pieces which we would usually have in a don. The sashimi and gyoza were the only more enjoyable dishes but didn’t near make up for the disappointment of the overall quality of the food. We had a fantastic family dinner at Sushi Wushi — the menu had something for everyone, and all of us left very satisfied.

Our teenage boys ordered the Tokyo Tuesday special and couldn’t even finish it — the servings were incredibly generous! I had the Chilli Jam Tofu, which was absolutely delicious. It came with a huge serving of rice, veggies, and perfectly cooked tofu in a rich, flavourful sauce.

The wait staff were wonderful — friendly, attentive, and impressively didn’t need a notepad. They remembered everything we ordered without missing a beat.
