Why this place isn’t hopping all the time I don’t know. It’s a place that has been well thought out for style, ambience and downright funk. Each table has a game on it (think Jenga) and they are spacious and inviting. You can be indoors or out - either is nice. The beer available is plentiful. Traditional, local, craft, on tap - just everything as well as wine or soft drink for those that don’t wish to partake. The wall with all the tap beer on is clever and had me wanting to try a little of everything. Staff were fabulous and very patient as I found it hard to decide what to try. Good parking out the front but there are meters (2 hours @ $4 per hour). Wheelchair friendly. Nice and warm on the chilly winter night I was there. I will return.

Do you call yourself a connoisseur? Do you have a penchant for great things in life? Do you like beer that's not your usual Aussie beer (nothing against our pure and good old Aussie beer mind you)? Then this is the beer place for you. With so many different varieties of beer on tap and in the fridge, you are either going to spend your night here or just keep coming back. If price is no barrier for you, but you want a beer that your taste buds like, then this is must visit place for your bucket list. Unfortunately though because the selection is limited and it changes, you will have to keep an eye on their week's list, which is sporadically updated. So all in all, you'll have to visit this place to find out what you like and want to drink.

Instagram: @ediblemelbourne Beer lovers ... ASSEMBLE Absolutely love the concept here, a great space to chill and enjoy different types of unique beers that you won't necessarily find being offered to your average pub. The vibes are super relaxed, exactly like you would expect on Smith Street, the staff very polite and ready to talk you through (or into) your next beer adventure. We were here during Good Beer Week and we got to try truly different style beers; think marshmallow sour beer. Pay them a visit and if you know (or don't know) about your beer, chat to them; they're so passionate about beer, you won't hear the end of it hehe No for real though!

I do agree there is a large selection of hard to find beers here. My suggestion is to display prices because I had no idea I would be charged $30.50 for 2 cans of beer. I accept they could be rare beers but no prices displayed leaves us guessing how much we will be charged and I had no idea what can cost what. I also never received a receipt to know how much they were. I did also feel not welcomed. I felt I was disrupting the bar assistant conversation as he said a total of 4 words and the price. “Here or take away?” “$30.50”. Not very welcoming or interest in my beer selection or even if I had tried them before. Especially if these beers are so called rare or hard to find, wouldn’t you be interested to talk to your customers about their choices? I guess not. Thank you for letting me shop elsewhere. In response back to you, the bar was not busy at all. I purchased from the fridge where there were no prices displayed. I was never told the price as he was too busy talking to friends. It’s not the price that’s the problem and you don’t always have to try and make a point of someone wanting a beer that’s less expensive. We have money but want to be informed how much before so we have the choice of paying the high price or something more reasonable. I’m sure you wouldn’t order from a menu at a restaurant without knowing the prices? Sometimes you should accept the feedback and use it to improve. That’s...

If you're a craft beer aficionado in Melbourne, Beermash is an absolute must-visit. This unassuming gem in Collingwood is a haven for beer enthusiasts, boasting an impressive selection of both local and international brews. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a wall of gleaming taps, each pouring a different craft beer. The rotating selection ensures there's always something new to discover, from hoppy IPAs to rich stouts and everything in between. The knowledgeable staff are always on hand to offer recommendations based on your preferences. But the magic doesn't stop at the taps. The fridges are overflowing with an incredible range of bottled and canned beers, from rare limited releases to classic favorites. Whether you're a seasoned beer connoisseur or just starting your craft beer journey, you're sure to find something to tantalize your taste buds. The cozy interior creates a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. It's the perfect place to unwind with a pint, chat with fellow beer lovers, or simply enjoy a quiet moment of solitude. If you're looking for a top-notch craft beer experience in Melbourne, Beermash is the...

Honestly, I was really looking forward to having a beer here after work — this is my go-to spot. But I left feeling a bit disappointed with the customer service today. I don’t drink much, so when I do, I like to take the time to find something I’ll really enjoy, and usually tasting a couple of options isn’t an issue. In fact, one of the reasons I love this place is because it’s known for helping customers find something that suits their palate.

Unfortunately, the staff member serving today responded to my request to taste a few beers with what felt like passive-aggressiveness and a lack of enthusiasm. It kind of killed the mood — I felt like a burden instead of a welcome guest.

This is just a gentle reminder that sometimes it helps to put yourself in the customer’s shoes. A bit of warmth and patience can go a long way, especially when someone’s genuinely excited to be there and wants to explore...
