Finally a real pocha popped around Doncaster! Very thrilled to see and its truly a hidden gem. This is how you do a pocha unlike the other places I've seen. Im always open minded for Korean restaurants not run by Koreans as long they do it right. I can assure you they did not miss.
The food: Very well thought out menu for pocha food. You got your korean fried chicken, loaded fries, your various stews and importantly the alcohol . Looking forward for them to expand their menu in the future but for what they have currently is great! Sadly I had to drive and had 1 tap beer only. Amazing beer. I reckon (i think they do) keep their beer glasses extreme ice cold and it would be even better!
Service: the kind old worker was so nice. Helped us direct the way to get there as we did not expect their was a secret back entrance to get there. When it was windy, he and other works made sure we enjoyed our experience. Other customers and myself were well taken care of.
Atmosphere: the most essential when doing a pocha and they nailed it. Music not over loud, not too bright and the sitting arrangements as how it should be. Not sure about the squid game theme around but thats just me nit picking.
Overall it will be my go to place for pocha food with my wife. I hope it won't be windy and I get to drink more. I'll be telling everyone about this...
Read moreBackyard late night Korean spot in Doncaster behind @bemerry.au is buzzing and spicing up the backyard with your late night Korean food cravings over soju and tap beer.
From Korean fried chicken which are super crispy and juicy, goes perfectly well with your tap beer or soju, but we opted for durian shake and strawberry matcha both were equally delicious. Must try.
Their comforting beef mala hotpot is perfect to comfort your soul this winter and it’s perfect for sharing when hanging out at this beer garden with your friends late night.
Also they got a wide range of street food entrees like Korean hot dog, wasabi with squid, and much more.
Definitely a best spot to hangout with your friends and family on a weekend night, also service is prompt and the staff are all very welcoming and friendly.
Visit tonight behind @bemerry.au beer garden serving freshly made tasty Korean...
Read moreBehind Merry is a new hidden gem in Jackson court. It is literally located through a door behind the crepes place called Be Merry. Absolutely love the atmosphere as I almost feel like I got teleported to a street vender in Korea. 😆 We ordered an octopus stew, however they they didn’t have octopus tonight, so they replaced it with a whole squid, very nice! The portion is quite large filled with a variety of fresh seafood. If the soup base could be richer with more layers of flavour, that would be perfect but it’s still very yummy. We also ordered snow cheese fried chicken and got a free snack basket as a promotion. Both are delicious. Thank you Behind Merry and we will definitely come back! Everyone, give...
