Between Two Slices (BtwoS) — Restaurant in Melbourne

I think environment affects how much you enjoy your food . I had been recommended Between Two Slices by some food bloggers I am mates with and have been really looking forward to going there . Unfortunately they close at 2:30 so has been difficult to get to . Though had the afternoon free due to my schedule opening up – looked up there Instagram and saw they had a birthday special which inspired me to travel the 40ish minutes to get there . So I popped down and asked about the Chicken Schnitzel sandwich . Was informed that it was the last day and it was later in the day about 1 and that I should have come earlier and made it a priority if I really wanted the sandwich and that they had run out . I was being chastised and patronised and spoken to like a child over a sandwich . I really really wanted to try any and all of the sandwiches as they looked amazing and who cares about the 5 dollar price difference . Though I would be a bit of a hypocrite and wouldn’t enjoy it if I did . So I thought better off it wished them a nice day and left . Everyone deserves to be treated with respect even a customer . It goes both ways . I try to speak to everyone with respect and expect the same in return . I did really want the sandwich though have other priorities and at the end of the day its just a sandwich . This is the first negative review I have ever written and hopefully the last .

Just because your having a bad day no matter the circumstances that doesn’t entitle you to make sure someone else doesn’t either . I wish them well . People and Environment are just as important as the food . Sure the fellow was just having a bad day and wish him well and a happy 1st birthday . Hidden Gem in Hawthorn!

Stumbled upon ‘Between two Slices’ in Hawthorn and I’m so glad I did! It’s a low-key spot, but don’t let that fool you — the food is incredible. I tried the Chicken sandwich and it was an easy 10/10 — perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavour. The Mediterranean sandwich was equally delicious with a great mix of fresh ingredients.

What made the visit even better was the warm and welcoming vibe from the guy behind the counter — super friendly and clearly passionate about what he does. I also gave the Turkish coffee a try and it was rich, smooth, and the perfect finish to the meal.

Absolutely coming back again. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and looking for something tasty...

We have been meaning to try this place! We got the veggie delight and the btwos salad. I am blown away! The ratios were perfect, the housemade pesto is not overpowering, really compliments the other fillings The way the eggplant is charred 🤤 it was love at first bite! I notice that the sandwich feels really light and healthy too, not drenched in mayo or dressing, they really let the fresh ingredients shine on their own. Very good price point too!

Will definitely be back to try more, that crumbed...
