BOB'S Kebabs has just recently opened. Not sure what it is with "Bob" but we also have Bob's your uncle cafe and Bob's burgers part of Doncaster hotel... Personally I would have chosen a different name.
I came here tonight after letting them settle in for a few weeks. Tonight I tried the chicken kebab.
The place was new and clean. I was offered a choice of pita bread or Turkish bread, two dips and salad.. I'd like to consider myself a kebab/Souvlaki fan so if thought I'd try the basic... pita bread with tzatziki (called garlic yoghurt) lettuce, tomato & onion.
After a couple of minutes the team had it ready to go. It's certainly wasn't the freshest pita to be honest and there was a cheesy taste which I'm not sure where it came from given I didn't ask for cheese. Overall I'd say it was good. Next time I'll try the Turkish bread... Having something within walking distance and open late...
Read moreOrdered 2 chicken kebabs from here. The Turkish Bread did not taste fresh, and was too soft and a little mushy, almost like a sandwich (not what you want in a kebab). Would’ve been better if more toasted and crispier.
They also added what tasted like hummus and coriander to the kebab, which was not specified on the menu and was not wanted.
The meat was good quality, but didn’t have the same tasty flavours as regular kebab meat.
The kebabs were also the most expensive I’ve seen, with the two kebabs (one with cheese added) coming it $33.80. Possibly a Sunday surcharge?
Can find better value for money...
