Please read owners response in regards to this review as he/she does not take criticism well at all. Dine here at your own risk, and whatever you do make sure not to leave a review as this will A) Not change anything, B) Have you accused of lying and exaggerating. Reviews do not lie as 3 people have written 1 star reviews in the past week alone..
My Partner and I decided to trial Bob's cafe as we saw the high review and appealing presentation of food online. To be fair to the staff, they where busy and the lady who served us was clearly rushed by the lunchtime serving. We where seated at approx. 1:30 and informed that once ordered, food would be roughly a 30 minute wait. Our order was taken at approx. 1:40 and drinks served rather quickly. This comes to the point my review reflects the one star rating as it all fell apart from there. Please note this review does not reflect the business's food as i cannot comment on something i have not consumed, this is simply focusing on the lack of service and communication.
Our order was the Beef Burger (No Cheese due to allergy) and a breakfast board. We took notice of tables around us as one does when eating out and several tables sitting outside where agitated with the long delays in food being delivered. Our frustration grew as it was impossible to stop a staff member to get any update on our meal. What really shocked us was tables seated 20 minutes after us where having food served and we couldn't even get a "Hello" or "Your order is coming". At one point we had a staff member say they would check, but i can only assume that our request was ignored as we heard nothing.
During the experience, i went to look at reviews to see if this was a once off thing or if we where subject to an ongoing issue. It seems several people have had this issue and whats more alarming is the Owner seems to rebut and dispute any criticism or issue and justifies there position accordingly. This is actually partly the reason we felt it necessary to leave this review. We left your table at 2:50 as we would not waste any further time waiting for a meal we couldn't be guaranteed was even on the way. The burger i can understand can take some time with a backlog, but the breakfast board is yoghurt, toast and orange juice? Over an hour for this? In addition, my partners milkshake was served lukewarm, an interesting take on such a simple classic..
A note to the owner: We both understand that in the holiday period business's get busy and there can be extended waits, but you may want to advise your staff that communication comes a long way in keeping customers happy alongside good food and drinks. Over an hour with no communication and clearly no system to monitor orders is recipe for disaster. In addition, its a very poor look to be overly defensive and dismissive of peoples reviews on this platform, as it reflects worse on yourself. We did not speak with you and we where also kind and friendly to your staff. Neither of us have actively got up and walked out of a restaurant before so i'm hoping that you take this review constructively and it highlights a key issue your business clearly has.. (See other reviews) This clearly has not been taken on board
If you would like to communicate privately further i am more then...

This is a modern style cafe that offers impressive food and service. It would be well at home in any of the hipster drenched inner suburbs.
The owner of Bob’s Your Uncle is a hospitality industry veteran and it certainly shows. The cafe has a good modern menu full of great dishes. It was doing a good brisk trade when we arrived. I chose the nourish bowl with a poached egg and some toast. The dish was outstanding. Best I’ve had for a while and much better than similar dishes available at higher rated places including Sir Charles earlier in the week. The dish was beautifully presented and looked very inviting. Everything in this dish was absolutely as fresh as a daisy. Every single one of the veggies was so flavoursome. You worry a dish like this might be bland. You certainly don’t have to worry about this one. Everything was great. The pickled beetroot was particularly fine, the carrots magnificent, the brussel sprouts just ever so residually crisp, the rice cooked perfectly, etc, etc. It’s such a great dish.
My partner had the super food salad with salmon. She’s occasionally a harsh critic but she too went nuts over her dish. She loved it. I had a taste as well. It’s a superb offering.
It was noteworthy that our meals and all the other ones coming out were a good size. I was taken by the chilli eggs being consumed at a nearby table. A largish meal that looked very good. That’s one for next time.
The coffee was lovely here too. Strong and beautiful. We could not fault it.
This cafe is a nice bright modern space, mainly white with a little green. It’s soft and subtle decor. It always good to to see some greenery as well and there are some nice plants dotted around at ground level and higher. The cafe was bit noisy at some points, mainly due to one rather ebullient group. They might also consider soft tips on the chair legs here as well.
Service was very good throughout. It was noticeable that the staff were working hard. Our young server was polite, attentive and very efficient. A wonderful asset to the business.
Overall this is a very very good local place. We loved it and will definitely return. I dearly wish this was...

A long-standing favorite for me has been the Oink Oink Croissant Banh Mi – a treat for meat lovers with its pork belly marinated in Tom Yum sauce, offering a delightful blend of sweet and sour. The substitution of the traditional Vietnamese bread with a croissant brings an enjoyable crunch to each bite.
I also like the Coconut & Prawn Scramble. Encased in a hot sesame bagel, the spicy scrambled eggs and juicy prawns, paired with coconut sambal sauce, create a delightful blend of flavors. The crispiness of the bagel adds an extra layer of satisfaction to the dish.
This time I have explored new additions suitable for a sunny Melbourne summer:
The Summer Salmon Fruit Salad is a vibrant mix of fresh summer fruits and vegetables paired with aromatic Tasmanian salmon, quinoa, avocado, radicchio, orange, kale, and more. The passion fruit sauce adds a light and refreshing touch.
For those with a sweet tooth, the Summer Berry Pancake is a delightful treat. Topped with raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and strawberry ice cream, the blueberry pancake has a wonderfully soft texture.
For the drinks, the Baby Bumblebee is a refreshing and summer-inspired choice. With creamy cheese foam on top and a hand-brewed iced coffee below, infused with a hint of orange freshness, it perfectly balances the bitterness of coffee with the crispness of orange.
It's more than just a meal, it's a delightful journey through flavors, textures, and the inviting ambiance of this...
