I was really satisfied with the food and drink I ordered and also the friendliness of the staff . I ordered a smoked salmon omelet and an iced matcha. The portion sizes were ample and quite decent value for money. I would definitely go back However, there were a few things that were a bit disappointing for example the step going into the café is too steep possibly a tripping hazard for customers and not wheelchair accessible. Also not one book in the whole place I initially went in because I thought I could find a good book to read while eating lunch. I also noticed the table was extremely sticky and the floor had some cracks in it where there was paint peeling off. The food options are great, I just think a few tweaks like fixing the step going in and putting a bookshelf in a cafe that calls itself books n bites would be a positive.

Got a Tandoori Panini and Danish. Quite decent quality, definitely one of the best Panini I’ve had. The danish was soggy though, that was meh. Prices are leaning towards the expensive end, I’m not sure what is the ‘usual’ prices in Australia (From NZ) but converting into NZD it’s definitely expensive/on the higher end, but good tasting though. Atmosphere was okay, not very modern or the cleanest but definitely has a rustic vibe. Will go again if I happen to visit Mel CBD again (if I end up walking past the cafe that is..)

Decent fries and iced mocha. The fish and chips were a bit too dry tho and the salad dressing wasn’t that good. There’s only one charging station and the tables are a decent size to study! There’s also university wifi there. Wish the tables were less sticky tho

Wont be coming back again. First time, my muffin that I ordered was given to the next customer and the banana smoothie was horrible. Decided to give the place a second chance, meal took ages to come out. Eggs benedict had no spinach (was stated to come with spinach on the menu) and was spicy (not stated on menu). I didn't ask them to remake as I knew it would make me late....
