Great piece of green space to chill in, relax or just take a walk through. I walked through this square many times on the way to and from the Melbourne University campus. Always a good mood lift before class or a little pick me up after classes. I really enjoy just appreciating the nature as I walk through the square.

The best time would definitely a couple of weeks during spring where the flowers are all blooming. The vines that form a canopy on both sides of the square are especially beautiful. They bloom purple flowers and during the couple of weeks the entire canopy is just purple flowers. Truly a great sight and even greater to walk through. Definitely have seen people have impromptu photoshoots there before.

Another sight that I love to see and walk through are the cherry blossom trees when they are in full bloom. Definitely has some Instagram worthy shots there. The flowers go from being initially the pale pink one would expect from cherry blossoms to white after a while and honestly they're still great to look at at that stay.

The only thing would be that during winter all the trees and canopy and trees are completely bare. Not the greatest sight to see, but still great considering...

Lincoln Square is a significant local open space in Carlton, in the heart of Melbourneโ€™s Innovation District, valued by residents, local workers, students and visitors for its mature trees, sunny lawns and gathering spaces. Home to the first public playground in Victoria from circa 1907, play continues to be an important part of Lincoln Square.

Following works in 2016 to upgrade the plaza on Swanston Street and install an underground stormwater collection and flood mitigation system, City of Melbourne has developed a concept plan for the entire park, to ensure that Lincoln Square meets future needs and community expectations.

Endorsed by the Future Melbourne Committee in April 2018, the concept plan sets the direction for improvement works over the next five years and outlines four key actions: expanded park, new play space, planning for trees and improved...

A small green open space which brings refreshing coolness and a welcome relief. Walkways crisscross through the park area. Plenty of seats which give us enough privacy for small talk with loved ones or quick bites on the go. ๐Ÿ™‚ Good place to spend a quiet afternoon reading a book, watching youngsters skateboarding, little children playing in the play area, watching trams go by. The little fountains at the front are also a delight to...

An absolutely fantastic playground! We stumbled upon this and stayed for quite some time! Confusingly, the sign on the gardens says 'Fitzroy Gardens', not to be confused with the more famous one a little ways away. All of the wood is marked with the type of tree it came from, it's a real delight! And with cafes nearby, it's a real destination where parents can hang out while the kids play.
