My boyfriend and I came here tonight to see if this new burger place was any good, but unfortunately we found it is very average and we will not be visiting again.
It was quite busy tonight when we arrived and were told it would be a 30 min wait for our food, which we didn’t mind as the venue has a cool vibe inside and had good music playing too. Our food arrived maybe only 20-25 mins later, however what we got was disappointing:
I had ordered the Royal With Cheese & my boyfriend had the Beno. The bun of my burger was very cold and stiff, like it had been frozen and not all the way defrosted. The patty was overdone for my liking and far too small for the bun as well. My boyfriend mostly enjoyed his burger, but the egg was quite underdone so when he first picked up the burger the yolk broke and made a mess all over his hands & the table.
To top it off, the fries were the same quality as you can get from maccas after midnight and the “chocolate fudge” monster milkshake we got tasted like a cup of regular milk with a tablespoon of chocolate milk added. Very plain, very underwhelming.
For $40 and a decent wait time we were just really disappointed. The venue & staff were both great, but the food is just not at the same level. Hoping for their sake that after they settle in more the quality will improve, but I won’t find out as I’m not going to...
Read moreRather disappointed in the overall service, and food.
We ordered a royal with cheese, and the pickle dog. After more than a half hour wait, and watching several people who walked in after us get their food well and truly before us, we questioned where our food was and the order was lost.
To their credit, we were offered freebies but I just wanted the food we paid for, and it was going to take something special at this point to get me to come back.
The food arrived a few minutes later. The inclusion of chips in the price is good, but the chips were nothing special, and seriously, chips need salt. Send the chips out with salt on them. My burger looked good, but the patty was overcooked and dry. Perhaps due to rushing our order through. Could have been real good if the meat was cooked properly, but I can only comment what I was served. The overall burger had plenty of ingredients but felt dry. Didn't have a bite of the dog but my wife didn't enjoy it much, and this is someone who truly loves pickles.
The food is edible, the price is fair, but the service wasn't great. A couple guys behind the counter spent a good chunk of time just talking, and clearly they had friends eating as they spent a lot of time talking to them, and when you lose customers orders, it isn't...
Read moreI wanted to visit this place twice to check consistency and can happily confirm that burgers were top notch both times.
At a time when we have a choice of either highly processed rubbish from fast food outlets or wanky burgers from the hipster elites; it's great to see an establishment providing real, authentic, classic burgers.
These burgers are on-point - the patties are generously thick and juicy, with a home-made, wholesome taste. The cheese is a perfect match with a rich taste that doesn't get lost in the mix like so many other burgers. Sauce is also generous (i asked for a little less 2nd time round), but is again, a perfect fit for the overall taste.
I initially thought the burgers were a little expensive, but all burgers include fries, so factor this in and the value is good IMO.
String fries were also consistently good, however the hero is the burger 🍔
I can't yet speak for the other menu items which appears to be hotdogs, wings and a selection of sides and drinks.
I only hope the owners maintain the quality of ingredients and finished product, firm up their corporate identity, then start rolling out this puppy across the state!
UPDATE - Have visited a few times now, "Double Whammy" burger is the best...
