The food here was good and the staff were friendly but the service quality was unfortunately not great and its not the cheapest place. First of all they forgot our reservation and had to put us on a small table for 4 so we felt kind of squished all night, my daughter wanted to draw so we could have some adult conversation and nothing would fit, secondly they didn't write down our orders and the lady just sat next to us while we thinking of what to order so we felt a bit rushed, then they forgot my daughters apple juice, they forgot that we asked for gravy (which they charge about 2$ extra for to have on the side vegetables), they forgot a side dish for entree and we had to ask again for all of that, then even worse they forgot an entire main meal and the side she ordered with it for my friend, luckily she had an entree but we kept trying to get someone's attention and wondering where it was, they didnt fill our water or bring new cultery and only when we were pretty much finished our meals we asked the original waitress and she admitted she forgot to put them in because she got confused and thought my friend didn't definitely want them. I understand mistakes and miscommunication happen and she apologised and took the one main meal price off but there were just so many things that It did impact the night. They were all friendly staff and helpful when we asked questions so I hate giving a negative review but that was our experience. I went there years before for someone else's event and don't remember any significant issues, the service was laid back and nothing fancy or overly attentive that time either which I don't mind and the food was good both times, the place is beautiful with unique european decor and has a great vibe especially outside in the alfresco and courtyard areas where the music is. I would probably go back but i would ask for a bigger table and for them to write down and double check the order and if it didn't come straight away I would push for it then...

I had a great time at Beach 162 on Sunday 27th 2024, as I have the previous times that I've been. I have waited a few days before posting this gripe. Having arrived around 4.15 with guests/relatives that I brought. They asked about getting some food, so walked into the inside area and enquired to a young girl behind the counter. Who said she was unsure and called out to her superior (I assume ), who in turn said I could not get/order food till 6pm. I walked back outside to see some people with plates on their table, so I enquired where they got that food. They said inside and it took 45 mins to be served. I returned to my guests and reported I was unable to get food. One of which was unhappy with this and marched inside and got some sort of bread with dips. Negating the comments that I had told them. Before too long ( around 4.30 ) I went back inside to use the mens room. I noticed the pizza oven was in operation and the chef had one freshly cooked pizza on the bench and what looked like another one ready to go in. So I asked if I could order with him, to which he replied something like he was not the owner and I had to go back to the counter where they told me I had to wait till 6 pm. This just all seemed just so bizarre to me. Futher to this, the two self serve water dispensers at the bar – one was empty the other was close to empty. I saw a lady tipping the almost empty one to try to get a drink and got her shoes wet. I reported this to the bar staff and noted later no changes. FYI, I was not the allocated driver that day and really enjoyed the cold beers and live music and fully plan to visit again on a Sunday arvo it has such a lovely...

This was not the experience that I was looking for, suggesting to take some colleagues to this restaurant having good experiences in the past. The decor is older than my ancestors, at the front door, looks like someone's ashes are in a urn... naked girl on the wall, questionable "art". - it gave grandma's house vibe, but certainly not comforting, the type that you do you best not to go to... There's this weird doll hanging off the bar, - felt very like, weird... the table decor was interesting, and I couldn't quite tell what the theme of the restaurant was. The food tasted old and very undesirable. I was served something like looked like a sad microwave meal from frozen Red Box at Woolies. The food wasn't hot at all, rather quite sad. The staff service was super slow and not really appealing to me like I'd want from someone looking after a table. I'm in the service industry and I can assure you that wouldn't cut it. I had dessert, and the ice cream was the best part because it was probably Peter's ice cream can't really get that wrong, but the crumble felt microwaved as I burnt myself on the bowl, but the crumble was definitely not fresh, just reheated. I just felt so underwhelmed with everything and had high expectations that weren't met. I won't be returning and have probably lost the opportunity of selecting night outs now. Can't recommend, sorry.

One positive was one girl waitress was quite lovely....
