Burger Road Ashburton — Restaurant in Melbourne

New to Ashburton High Street - Burger Road. Ordered online which was an easy process. Pick time was 6:56pm which I thought was very precise. So far so good.

Turned up at 6:50pm and the place was heaving. With people waiting on the footpath. A good sign. The precise pick up time ended up being 7:09pm so 13 mins late. The service was good however and when the burgers were handed over an apology was included. It was super busy so cutting some slack for that.

The burgers however were A1. Proper double handed juicy burgers. We ordered the Fire Extinguisher chicken burger - proper hot! The Station Street burger and Moo Yahlicious were excellent too. Didn’t try the shakes but look worth a go too.

They have a few tables to dine in but the tables were in desperate need of clearing and cleaning. Certainly straining under the load...

Burger was great. Patty is great, buns and cheese great. 4/5 for the burger. I got the 2nd exit which has 2 x the ingredients.

Chips was extremely dry, stale and very unsatisfying. 2/5 for the chips.

There's also a misleading sign that says "make it a meal" for $1.60

Initial impression is that $1.60 would mean that chips and drinks included to make a meal. However, upon further reading, it's $1.60 for a can of drink if you add the $5.90 regular chips; which is very absurd. A drink doesn't "make it a meal"

Total came to $27+. I would have the burger again ALONE. Burger should've been $19.99 which is hefty, but quality ingredients come at a cost!

Was really looking forward to trying out this place after seeing the high google ratings but left disappointed.

They put in a lot of effort in keeping the place clean and even had Halloween decorations which was a nice touch!

However the music was playing a bit loud that it was hard to have a conversation.

Burger wise, everything was good apart from the beef patty. It was a bit too greasy. And it just didn’t taste like beef at all. A bit hard to see from the photo. When you bite into it, it’s light coloured. Hard to tell what it is. If you’ve had a proper beef burger, when you bite into it, you could see texture of the mince that’s either grayish / pinkish. But this one just seemed like fillers to me.
