Butlers Kitchen — Restaurant in Melbourne

Today was the second time we celebrated Mother’s Day lunch at Butlers Kitchen as we have dined here a couple times randomly beforehand and were never disappointed. Every sip of coffee and every bite of food is always so delicious!

The service? Top tier staff from the moment we stepped foot into the place, seating us and serving the goods. Everything was done with such professionalism and huge smiles. The atmosphere and warm energy in this place was just welcoming! The drinks came out to us pretty fast and the food came out not long after. Not much waiting around and wondering at all what is happening to our order. And that’s how you can tell just how well they (back of house and front of house teams) work together especially on a day like today.

What did we order? Drinks: Cappuccino, Iced lattes, pineapple juice and LLB. Food: ~Chilli prawn linguine with garlic & herb bread. It had such a good kick of spice!

~Spicy Korean fried chicken waffles. So much flavour it was a party in my mouth! It was so filling that I was still full around dinner time but then again I ate half of my mum’s linguine too. I decided to try something different instead of my go-to beef burger and 100% happy I did!

~Corn fritters looked great and my husband had nothing to say which means a lot as he usually would be the one to say something if something isn’t right for his palate.

~Kids chicken nuggets and chips. Over fried in my opinion as they were dark but not something worth fussing over as it was probably a one-off thing and they were still edible. My son ate all the nuggets and most of the chips.

23/12/2021 Thursday @ 10:30am - was average busy at the time Order: Butlers Big Breakfast & the Forest Mushroom Brushetta (Both Pictured) Every time I visit this place the food is exceptional and the price is reasonable for the quality of food. Additionally, if you want to have a good coffee, give this one a try - you won't be disappointed. This is a go to brunch place. Customer Service: Although the serving counter is small, if you make a booking, the service person will guide you to your allocated table. This is an "order at the service table" establishment, no table service (at brunch anyway) which is fine considering everything else. After ordering, drinks took about 5--6 minutes - food about 10-15 minutes. (Outstanding) Waiter asked after the food when finished (excellent) Food: I have had the big breakfast (really good, must have) before so wanted to try something different - I am a fan of mushrooms so tried the Forest Mushroom Brushetta with an additional hash brown. It was a lot of food, but i enjoyed it just as much as the big breakfast. It was different, but the mushrooms and all the different flavours provided were sooooo good! Additionally, while I had an OJ with this - the coffee here is excellent. Overall: While the place may seem a little pokey and cramped in some places - it can still be an fun and breezy place to just enjoy a friendly chat, a first date or even a group lunch for both business or pleasure. I am an avid breakfast lover who has eaten many avocado smashes in my time but this was by far one of the best I’ve had. So good that I had to write a review. Not only did it taste absolutely phenomenal, it was literally a work of art. They put spices on the lemon so it would infuse the juice as you squeezed it and there was so much intention around the placement of the garnishes. Beautiful fresh herbs used and every bite had so much flavour. It was so beautiful to look at I almost didn’t want to eat it. I enjoyed the fact that they made an effort to butter the sourdough toast and the hash brown I ordered was normal sized and crunchy. I was greeted with such excitement when I was presented with this dish and the server explained they were trying something new? Yep, well whatever it was, it was amazing! All the staff look like they genuinely love working here which is so nice to see. Very attentive, lots of smiles and keeping themselves busy. I had the barista double check my matcha order which was a good detail and waiters coming and taking my dishes immediately. Great to see an all day breakfast menu as some places don’t do it but it’s 100% needed in the cafe industry so you don’t lose business.
