Frankie & Co Cafe — Restaurant in Melbourne

After my shopping at spotlight Fountain Gate we wanted to have a bite at this coffee shop; the range of specials seemed great. Unfortunately our first option of croissant and coffee wasn’t available due to not having croissants, then we decided for French toast with bacon which was also unavailable because it was “breakfast special”, which wasn’t clearly stated in their signs (Only one board had the word breakfast in it) so we missed on that also. We went for the muffin and coffee, and although it is clearly advertised that you will receive 10% off after showing your spotlight receipt, I didn’t get this discount because it was a special price already (there was no way I could have known this before hand, as the sign on their entrance only says 10% off with your spotlight receipt) Finally the coffee wasn’t hot enough and had to drink it quite fast; I decided not to request a hotter one, because I had already been trying to get every other special they had and I didn’t want to feel more awkward than I was already feeling. The muffin was ok. Overall, I wish they had what they advertise including the discount! I know it’s only 10%OFF but that’s what got us through their doors. False...

Serious coffee drinker here. Unbelievable value, fantastic coffee and I look forward to working my way through their amazing looking panini, muffins and cakes Having recently moved the area and read all the reviews of all the cafes locally and gradually working my way through the list this was next to try. Most have mediocre coffee and reasonably good food, occasionally above average coffee and food. This place however stands head and shoulders above the rest for their fabulous coffee. So much so, I'm not even going to bother with the rest of my list. I've made this my local go-to. I had smashed avo with poached eggs and it was both generous and yummy! Eggs were perfect, avo was seasoned well, perhaps a little light on the fetta, but overall very good. Came with a balsamic glaze.drizzle salad which was refreshing and delicious, rather than the type of salad that is merely a garnish and not something you'd like to eat. Lacks the extra sprinkles and glitter that fancy joints add on, but who needs that and at a huge price difference I certainly don't. Used to come here a lot when I lived in the area because the food and coffee were always on point. I do drop in on occasion when I travel through usually really early when the car park is empty. The parking isn’t really great as the design of the Center car park is more like a maze, so it’s a bit haphazard when it’s busy. It’s not the cafes fault by any means but when manoeuvring a work vehicle it’s a factor as to why I stop in early morning when it’s empty.

Today I had a big breakfast, pie and coffee. The service was very friendly and prompt. I was surprised when the cutlery was replaced on the table without even asking, this actually impressed me as it’s a small detail misses by a lot of places. The pie and desert were incredible. The pie was a Moroccan lamb and was loaded with filling. The pastry was spot on and everything was warm and consistent the entire way through.
