Only popped in to quell my son’s request for a hot chocolate but I’m so glad I did. Was so nice that the server (possibly owner) was happy to chat and interact with my son. Instantly put my work out school holiday heart at ease lol. There was some jazz in the background playing and an overall relaxed atmosphere. Definitely somewhere you could come to have a relax and read/write/chat. Very cosy, inside fits maybe 20? But as per others photos there is also seats outside and next to the library so you can make a day of it! Will definitely be back. Read moreCafe Bruce has an interesting history behind it as some 29 years ago it used to be an Op shop that was run by little old ladies here. Infact the whole strip from the turning point in Balaclava had Op shops also including a bed specialist until the Salvos swallowed it all up. Speaking of Salvos, that too was once a chop shop and a piano specialist store. But back to Bruce when it was an Op shop, I remember all the front row of shows on the store display window. So nice were those little old ladies that they gave me a Cleveland Indians cap for free when ai offered to pay for it!
