If you're looking for a taste of Lebanon right here in Carlton, Cafe Jabelle is a must-visit! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with warm, welcoming smiles that set the tone for a delightful dining experience. 🤗

The menu at Cafe Jabelle is a treasure trove of authentic Lebanese flavors that are tantalizing yet approachable for all palates. We kicked things off with their house-made dips, which were the perfect prelude to an amazing meal. 🌿

Let's talk about the stars of the show: the Arnabeet was absolutely sensational, a crispy delight with a punch of flavor that left us craving more! The Ma'anek was beautifully spiced and hit all the right notes, while the Batata Harra was perfectly crispy and seasoned to perfection. Every dish was a journey of flavors, and it was a joy to graze through them. 🍽️

For dessert, the knafeh offered a modern twist that was visually stunning with ice cream and fairy floss. However, the savory cheese left us longing for the traditional sweetness. A return to the classic knafeh would perfectly round off the meal. 🍨

The ambiance is lovely, and I can only imagine how much better it will be once they get their liquor license. It’s bound to enhance the experience even further! 🎉

Overall, Cafe Jabelle brings a wonderful slice of Lebanon to Melbourne. Highly recommended for an authentic culinary journey!...

Had dinner last night with some of my best mates, and we were absolutely blown away. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality made it feel more like a private dining event than a regular night out.

The food? Authentic, vibrant, and packed with flavour. Every dish told a story — recipes passed down through generations, shared with such pride and passion. The team took the time to walk us through the menu, explaining the ingredients and the traditions behind each plate. It felt like we were taken on a culinary tour of Lebanon.

The atmosphere was spot-on: elegant, welcoming, and full of heart. Beautiful fit-out, perfectly matched to the richness of the food and the experience.

And the service — simply outstanding. Attentive without being overbearing, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in making our night special.

We were so grateful for the care, the storytelling, and the feast. We’ll absolutely be back. Highly...

I love Lebanese manoush more than anything in the world, and spent an hour to get here by public transport. I’d seen the photos of their pastries, and really wanted to try them. It was barely 12pm, and still comfortably brunch time when I arrived (I’ve eaten at 40+ Lebanese bakeries/cafes across Melbourne and Sydney and all would still be serving manoush at this hour), and yet there was nothing in the display. I asked if they could make me a za’atar and although the waitress was kind enough to check with the kitchen, they said they could not. Mind you, za’atar was still being served with other menu items. I love za’atar so much that would have even overpaid for za’atar, if that was what it had to come to - let it be $10 for all I care - but to be flat out refused was disappointing. I felt pressured into ordering something I did not want, as I didn’t want to leave without eating something, but in hindsight I should...

Strolling down Rathdowne Street, I stumbled upon this absolute gem of a spot – Café Jabelle. I wasn’t too peckish, just in the mood for a midday nibble, and boy, did this place deliver. The vibe was as warm and cosy as a Melbourne hug in winter, and the owner and staff greeted me with such genuine smiles, I felt like I’d walked into a mate’s house. Decided to give the arnabeet a crack – crispy, golden cauliflower with a perfect balance of spice and tang that’ll make your taste buds do a happy little jig. It’s not just food; it’s a love letter to Lebanese cuisine. Washed it all down with a silky-smooth latte that hit all the right notes. The place just oozes charm – the kind of spot where you could park yourself for hours, soaking up the good vibes. Café Jabelle, you’ve won me over. Five stars, hands down. Can’t wait to come back and work my way through the rest of the menu.

Some of the tenderest chicken in Melbourne! TLDR : GET THE JABELLE PLATE!!! Jabelle, although new, has some of the most homely food I’ve had. Although I haven’t had a lot of Lebanese food in my days I was pleasantly surprised with the high quality food. The chicken on the Jabelle lunch plate was so tender it quite literally melted in my mouth, paired with the Lebanese bread and that yoghurty dip, chefs kiss. The other meats were also nice, everything was very flavourful and fresh. The Sujuk Egg Bake was also very nice, the tomato and onion mixture paired perfectly with the egg and Lebanese sausage, PERFECT for a Saturday/Sunday brunch. I highly recommended this cafe for cheap and high quality authentic Lebanese food.
