Cafe Verdi — Restaurant in Melbourne

I've been going to this place for years, and absolutely love everything about it. Although I've moved a long way away, I'll always pop in when I'm in the area. Lunch or a quick snack, and washed down with one of the best coffees for kilometres. They do old-style coffee shop fare here - a delicious toasted ham, cheese and tomato sandwich (buttered on the outside). Lunch meals such as deli meat and salad sandwiches, club sandwiches, rolls, baguettes, croissants, pies, pasties, sausage rolls, mini quiches, dim sims, etc. Great deserts and sweet snacks such as cakes, vanilla slices, jelly slices, and muffins... All of the lovely service team are just wonderful - friendly and efficient. Andy has built an amazing food business, which is a gem of the entire South-East...

This Cafe is normally packed during peak time. It is conveniently located as a free-standing kiosk just around Coles supermarket.

About half of the display cabinet trays normally full of pastries, cakes and other rolls / buns are empty when I visited here.

I have not tried the food, but the coffee is good. However, I cannot praise enough the great customer service given by the two young ladies and young man on duty. This is a reflection of their upbringing, as well as the management / owner...

Awesome staff, huge selection of savoury and sweet dishes, good coffee and if you need your caffeine in a bucket, their mugs are huge. I recommend the Angus Beef pie. Good size for a light but filling meal, with a perfect balance of meat to gravy. Pastry is light with a crispy top. Also very reasonable prices for a shopping mall cafe.
