Cielo Gelateria - Pentridge Coburg — Restaurant in Melbourne

TLDR SUCH a hit and miss! In these economic times, going here feels like gambling, especially if you’re ordering a drink to take out. Cielo please PLEASE work on the inconsistency ):

Mostly drop by here for a sweet treat after work and on weekends. Gelato is ok, BUT the major issue is how inconsistent they are with the shakes! Like we’d order a mango gelato shake one day and it’d be thick, icy, and filled out; the very same week we order one agin because it was so good but then get a watery mess, more milk than gelato, barely fills the cup (using a different lid too)… Love the vibe here but the inconsistency is a real turn off

That said, the vibe surrounding is immaculate but that has more to do with the new Pentridge and not this...

I wish I had read some of the honest reviews before taking my family here for dessert. Firstly, customer service was very poor, the server wouldn’t give us a sample or engage in conversation about flavours and choices etc. She genuinely seemed annoyed at my friendly questions. The scoops were very small given the price which is higher than most places, including Lygon street which is the gelato heartland. Not only were the scoops small but they weren’t even frozen. As we were walking out of the shop, the gelato had almost melted. Then as we went to sit down, every table had rubbish on it and had visible spillage of gelato smeared on it. Definitely...

Unfortunately the quality has gone down hill lately. The brownie I had today was really dry and disappointing, they used to be amazing! And also my partner who loves the waffles was really disappointed as they have seemed to change the way they made them, not sure If they're pre made now instead of being made on the spot like the used to do. The waffles used to be fluffy and light and now it seems like they're smaller and crunchy, almost like they have been dipped in something sugary. Such a shame as this place was great for...
