On Friday 29th there was a great security guard there, professional, personable and takes his job seriously. I’m a petite female and usually attract the wrong type of attention and I sensed a couple of dudes behind me waiting for my partner and I to finish at the atm to hassle us out and the security guard on shift at 9pm (didn’t grab his name unfortunately!) saw the subtle situation a mile off and sorted it out before anything bad happened. I felt very safe here despite there being some shady characters thanks to him. Give this man a raise!! Great meal, love the veal parmigiana, beautiful staff food and service, the staff member we got had the best recommendation for the food and combos. This is a classic Aussie pub with a country town vibe. It's honestly the last good pub in Coburg. It still has gambling but it's not really in your face. The decor in the bistro is comfortable with the old walls and feel of the building still present. They have tried to keep the traditional feel without the classic Coburg commercialization feel of the pub which has happened across Australia to my dismay.

Been around the area for more than a decade and dropped in the pub for the first time. Great place for dinner after getting some fresh air from Coburg Park Reserve. My friend and I ordered Chicken Parmigiana and Fish and Chips (around $30). It was very quiet on a Wednesday evening, but it took more than 30 minutes for them to get the meals we have ordered on the table. We weren't told about why by the staff, luckily I had a great company. From all the waiting, my expectation lowered for the food. But they were fantastic!
