Went to the copper & Fox restaurant in Lakeside Bvd, Pakenham for lunch 9/4/23. Overall a good experience. We unfortunately were the only people in the venue so not sure how the ambience is when it is busy.
Decore is lovely and service very friendly and helpful. Service timing was good and not intrusive.
Toilets nice and clean and with visible copper piping to the basis which were rustic in appearance, they were bang on theme which I like. Seating inside as well as outside, and upstairs area for busier times. It is situated opposite the Cardinia Cultural Centre and has plenty of parking both at the cultural center, on the road and also parking behind the venue.
It is a Restaurant not a pub, so no activities for the kids. Has a little bar area for coffee or a drink without a meal.
The menu is reasonable without being exceptional. Seafood, Meat, Salad, Pasta and vegetarian would cater for most tastes. However it is a little on the expensive side.
We had Cheesy Garlic Bread ($16), Chicken Parma ($28), Lam Ragu with (Gnocchi) ($35), Wagyu burger ($28), Kids Nuggets with Chips ($14), 2 milkshakes and a coke for $158.00 (No Alcohol) .
Feed very nice and all except the Ragu came with chips presented in a small copper coloured wire basket which was a nice touch. I did fancy the 300G Porterhouse but at $55, decided against it and went for the burger instead.
Deserts were $14-$16 and the meals were quite filling so we decided against deserts.
Couldn’t help thinking the menu prices may have had an influence on the number of patrons (No bookings for Easter Sunday). We had always wanted to try them, but had we been shopping around and checked out the menu first we may have selected elsewhere.
Having said that the food was very good. Well cooked and presented and reasonable servings. Would we go back – Yes for a special occasion, not just because we...
Read moreBooked a meal here for Dinner, The only negative was the size of the entree' From previous photos of The Bruchetta starter that had been reviewed, we were excited and duely ordered a Bruchetta for starter and were somewhat taken aback & disappointed when one small sliced piece of Slightly over cooked bread came out with 6/8 cherry tomatoes and cheese spread on it with micro basil and a drizzle of balsamic sauce over those. Traditionally not a bruchetta and quite small & not warmed through either. At the price for the entree' at least x2 pieces would be more welcoming & if this is a spin on the traditional, then it'd say lower the price as it is a bit steep for what you get, looks great tastes ok but not bruchetta, a nice spin on it though. For mains we ordered gnocchi & the salmon dishes which were very enjoyable, tasted great and though not quite sure about the pork (sausage) through the gnocchi, which left the overall dish looking a little grey. All mains tasted great just a few little things regarding the pork but it didn't effect the flavours etc. Drinks where great as were the cocktails & bar staff and serving staff very helpful and welcoming. Great atmosphere, nice decor and a great spot in Pakenham. Having been a chef for over 30 years, it's wa da nice change to get out & about & explore this areas food establishments for a night. In finishing I'd say I'd come back again to try the lunch service and see if they've taken note of reviews etc. For the amount we paid for the meals, drinks etc, it would be worth checking the place out for all the hard work that's clearly being carried out, just watch the portion sizes guys, starters need to be bigger. Well done & plenty room for...
Read moreThis is our third visit to Copper & Fox. The first time was for a function, and we enjoyed every second of it — the staff’s professionalism, friendliness, and outstanding food service made a lasting impression. It was so good that we returned for dinner soon after, and once again, everything was exceptional. The owners and staff made our evening truly memorable with their genuine warmth and professionalism.
All these visits were within this year, and just last Wednesday, we happened to be in the area again for personal business and to visit friends. Naturally, we couldn’t resist dropping by Copper & Fox — this time for coffee and dessert.
Let me tell you, I felt like I had stepped into dessert heaven! For the first time in my 60 years, I enjoyed three desserts in one sitting — and I simply couldn’t stop. Each dessert perfectly complemented the other: a scoop of crème brûlée with popcorn and roasted macadamia nuts, a scoop of cheesecake, and finally, sticky date pudding to complete the experience.
Wow… I was lost for words — pure bliss! Forget my review; go and try it yourself. You’ll understand exactly what I mean.
A huge thank you to the chef and the owners for creating such a beautiful place and such unforgettable...
