Went for a mothers day dinner at this place and I've never had a worse experience at a restaurant in my life. We paid 180+ in food and was told there was a 'mother's day sale' where they claimed we could get food for 'all you can eat' as many times as we like. First of all they shouldn't be making such claims when they can't accommodate to it. We tried to order more serving but were told entree can only be ordered once after being told anything off that menu could be multiple times. We paid $42 per person, 3 people in total, for the meal set. Waited over 30 minutes to get three pieces of tiny meat and then an additional 30-40 minutes for the main meal to be served. When we got this the serving sizes were smaller than one serving while in total ordering 3 servings. This place was a complete rip off for the food sizes and what they were claiming. Their customer service is one of the worst with no communication in the team and poor etiquette among all. If they can't accommodate that many people at a given time they shouldn't be taking bookings. Our table was placed near the door and there were people literally standing on top of us while trying to pay or get their take out order because they had taken orders of this many people and didn't have the capacity to fulfil them, got too greedy. Never again will be going here and I just don't understand why people like this place and how it has...
Read moreThe Indian restaurant for those that don't like indian or spicy food; mild, and lacking flavour. If you like your butter chicken as sugary tomato paste and cream and don't like spice, you'll love it. Definately a 'curry' place for the stereotypical white person (I'm white but I love tasty food). If you want real indian food, go elsewhere. Plenty of choice in Dandenong and elsewhere. Had the Royal Banquet. Starters were great. Delicious samosa, tandoor lamb and chicken, mouths were watering in anticipation of the mains. But they were very very disappointing. Coconut prawn curry and butter chicken were terribly bland, almost no spice at all, the butter chicken; meat was tender and delicious but sauce had almost no flavour at all, it was sweet tomato cream and that's all. The lamb rojan josh was the only dish that tasted like curry, the meat was tender and delicious, sauce was very tasty but overly salty (and I'm a salt fiend, so if I find it salty, I know it must be pretty bad). Stir fry vegetables were great. Naan was nice, very fresh.
Dessert was decent and to my taste better than average, not overly sweet. Mango lassi was good. Just a shame how disappointing and bland the mains were. We brought virtually all the main course home in takeaway, planning on making them tastier tomorrow. We are both good cooks, so we'll spunk them up tomorrow. Don't think we'll...
Read moreI'll start off with saying the food was amazing as it always is when we have it take away or eat in. Today was no exception. The issue was the service today. We went out for a birthday dinner and ordered a few things. Tandoori mushrooms, 3 servings of Samosa and a few mains. After about 20 minutes our entrees came out, or so we thought. We were given the mushrooms and only 1 serving of samosa. We expected the remaining 2 servings to come but they never did. When asked about it the server went into the kitchen and could be seen flipping through the docket. Was told a few more minutes on the order. 15 minutes later they hit the table. As we were hungry they went down quite quickly. As we were waiting for our mains our daughter was getting quite restless as it had already been an hour since we initially ordered. We had to call the server over again to ask where our food was. It took another 30 minutes for the mains to hit the table. After sitting down to start at 5.30 we didn't have our mains until just past 7pm. Upon bringing it up with the person on the counter before paying we were given a generic "sorry about that" heres your $250 bill for the night. After several years of coming and having taken out, we have to try somewhere...
