My first time to go to an Indian restaurant in Melbourne, which comes with a strong reputation of making one of the best biryanis in town. The restaurant was almost empty, so the service was pretty quick. We ordered their signature dish Dal Makhani - black lentils & red kidney beans cooked overnight with traditional spices & finished with cream & butter. I was craving for some curry, so I ordered the Goa Fish Curry - fish pieces cooked in a Goan style sauce with coriander seeds & dried coconut. And of course, this was incomplete without the Goat Biryani, along with steamed rice on the side for the curry. I have to say that their Dal & Biryani were good… as the reputation perceive them. What I didn’t enjoy was the Goan curry, as to me it was nowhere close to the authentic Goan curry. Good place for traditional Indian food though. I’d come back only for their biryani!

The customer service at Dani Pani is world-class not to mention the decor and intimate ambience. I am in awe of how reasonably priced this place is for such an authentic fine-dining experience. I have been returning to this place nearly every week and intend to bring all of my friends and family here because it has enough space to cater for large groups without being crowded whilst also providing the opportunity for an intimate quiet dinner - I want this place to stay open forever! I honestly can say this is probably the best indian food I have ever had (not even joking)! Thanks Dani Pani staff for being so hospitable (recommending and even remembering the dishes we had last time) 🤩

Some of the best Indian food I’ve had in my travels in Australia! The flavours were authentic and the spices were perfect. The dishes (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian) had a delicious aroma and tasted just as heavenly. It almost took me back to India - if you want to try real Indian food, this is the place! Added bonuses were the ambience, the friendly customer service and the location. Not to forget, the prices were pretty decent too and totally value for money. Loved it!

The customer service at Dani Pani is great not to mention the intimate ambience. I have been coming back to this place every now and then and started recommending it to all of my friends here because we loved the food at Dana Pani but off lately ,the food quality has deteriorated .The last 2-3 times the take away experience hasn’t been great. One time the butter chicken was so chewy and it had a stale taste to it. Not a good experience .This Tuesday we ordered takeaway. The garlic naans were not cooked fresh..and to top it,the naans has ginger/garlic paste instead of the fresh garlic they used to apply. The Chicken tikka masala wasn’t great as well. There’s no hard feelings ,We used to love the food here...every single dish used to be amazing. I do not intend to tarnish the image of the restaurant ,just wanted to bring this to the knowledge of the owners. Its just that we absolutely loved the food here.. it’s really hard to find places with authentic Indian...
