I have eaten at Loving Hut Richmond weekly over the past 2 years.
It really is a comfort having a neighborhood restaurant where the cooking tastes like home: no excessive oil, fresh vegetables and friendly service.
My personal favourite is the Pho - they have the best vegan Pho in the city (tasty, generous portion and plenty of mock meat). The broth is very hearty (and not just water/oil like other non-vegan restaurants tend to offer as a vegan option).
The menu is also very diverse, organised by Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai and Malaysian cuisines - allowing those with a vegan diet to get a taste of the various dishes that they may not otherwise have been able to taste.
Furthermore each dish has a protein element (tofu/mock meats) which allows for a complete meal.
The restaurant is clean (bathroom, tables) and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Definitely recommend and look forward to eating there again when I'm back...
Read moreWith its totally quaint interior and extensive vegan menu Loving Hut is onto a winning formula. The extensive menu has dishes to try from Thai, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Chinese and modern Asian fusion (and hot chips was an unclassified and unexpected menu item!). As a group of 4 we shared 2 serves of the Vietnamese spring rolls (with lettuce, mint and rice noodles) - tasted amazing - and I went on to have the crispy fillets which had a garlic and vinegar dipping sauce. Also for to try the red curry and the massaman curry. Both were rich in flavor. Wait staff were attentive and genuine. A really lovely experience at the Loving Hut. Note that this restaurant is alcohol free - no license / BYO. Update: had a second visit here this past weekend, can say experience was again wonderful. Had the soy cutlets, dim Sims and raw cacao milkshake with almond milk. ...
Read moreI love the salad with special sauce. Very tasty and unique flavours. All food is vegetarian and or vegan. There's also a freezer packed full of vegetarian dog and cat food to take home for your furry friends. The staff are wonderful, some are volunteers and they are friendly and knowledgeable. A very peaceful place to dine and enjoy a karma friendly meal with a conscience. If you're a meat eater you will be pleasantly surprised how tasty this food is. There is plenty to choose from to share or to have individual meals. The sharing option is the best. I'm not vegan nor vegetarian but I do love this place. Delicious!! They also have a bigger store...
