Very poor customer service.
As a little treat, I often buy cinnamon donuts and a hot chocolate from Donut King when I’m at Northlands Shopping Centre, Preston. On the last visit, I was unhappy with the quality of the hot chocolate. So on my next visit back I asked for a replacement.
The milk was burnt during heating and left a terrible after taste. I bought the hot chocolate on my way out of the Shopping Centre, so by the time I had a sip, I was in the car and well on my way home.
On this occasion I was shopping with my two daughters and we all wanted hot chocolates. So off to the food court we went. I explained to a female staff member at Donut King that I bought a hot chocolate recently and that it was undrinkable, and ask if she would replace it. I also explained that I would like to buy two more hot chocolates along with some cinnamon donuts. She stated that she had to ask the boss.
The boss was a tall skinny Asian man named Yak. He said he would not replace the hot chocolate. His reason was that it was unreasonable for him to believe every sob story presented to him at the counter, and that I should have bought the drink back.
I said to him, “I paid for something that was undrinkable and I was too far from the Shopping Centre to bring it back by the time I realized it.
I then said, “That’s just not good business.”
He then asked, “What are you going to do?”
I said, “I’m going to write a complaint on Google and I’m going to get my hot chocolates from someone else.”
He said, “Go”, and waved me away from the counter.
I bought the cinnamon donuts from Donut King because I couldn’t get them anywhere else. But, I still needed hot chocolates. Looking around the food court, I found some friendly faces at Mr Chicken.
I explained to the young woman behind the counter that I wanted a hot chocolate, that I wanted it hot, but not to burn the milk. I asked, “Can you make a good hot chocolate?”
She replied, “I don’t know, but if you don’t like it, I’ll give you a refund and drink it myself. I liked the hot chocolate very much. She seem pleased. She gave me a loyalty card and said, “See you next time.”
Now that’s good customer service. Thanks Mr Chicken.

Read moreReceipt attached, so it’s not a fake review. Yesterday I Ordered medium coffee + 2 donuts combo to a young asian girl clearly requesting it’s having here order in a mug and donuts without sugar. Loyalty card gave me free coffee n i paid for donuts.
The mature asian barista lady made my coffee in take away cup. And put the cup on shelf in a very rude body language. Also to mentione, she served 2 people before me in a very professional behaviour with smile on her face.
When i told her that its a having here order, this mature lady who is the owner of the shop, put the t/a coffee in the mug in such a rude way spilling half coffee on the bench. When i asked her why she is being so rude and treating me indifferently when i paid the same price like others did, waited for my turn patiently & clearly mentioned at time of ordering to young asian girl what i want.?? She yelled back at me pointing to young girl- but she didn’t tell me, i have to do things twice. I confronted her in front of other customers- then you need to talk to other girl or get upset at her when there are no customers. Yiu dont have to be rude to me or spill my coffee for which i paid in full in advance. Anyways, i left taking my tray to fing a table in food court. To my disappointment, i got donuts with sugar. I had to go back to get right order. Staff did not even once said sorry. And, i lost my table and had to wait for over 6 minutes to get one holding my tray in hand. How rude n unprofessional customer service was that. What’s happening between the countries globally, i think is mentally affecting people. Not to be rude but stating the fact witnessed by other customets standing there & incident getting recorded in shopping centre cameras- the chinese owner served everyone happily but me with anger and frustation coz i nelong to a rival nation. Shame on such discrimating and...
Read moreI have been buying doughnuts from this place since many years. Tonight, I went to the store and asked for a cup of water to drink. He said $4 and then grabbed a bottle of water and said $7. I then mentioned that I don't need a bottle, but i need in a cup. He could have politely said no but he chose to get very angry and I was actually shooed away. He gestured with both his hands and asked me to go. I have never seen such a rude, arrogant, inhuman person like him.Even animals are kinder and more human. Shame on such people. I then went to Degani and a very polite and kind person served me some water. Unbelievable.
Thank you for your response. But all I am noticing is negative reviews on customer service since weeks and nothing has been fixed. What a pity! People talk about spreading kindness and I don't know what does Donut King represent. Probably king in making money but pauper in showing kindness...
