Although I’d come here six months ago a recent return for a ‘coffee on the go’ and then today chatting with the staff, means I’m going to have to return again and have a meal. The menu has been updated since I last fined here and I’m always looking for something new. The coffee I had was not just good but the whole experience with the barista Paul who greeted me with a smile, happy to fill my reusable cup and wished me a good day - makes for a nice start to anyone’s working week. The restaurant itself has a warm ambience and is spacious and open with exposed brick walls and decor to match the era in which it was built. Out the back is a stunning courtyard that you can enjoy summer days (or winter ones as there are heaters) and soak up all that Abbotsford has to offer. Wine and beer menu is good and a large bar for those that want something more. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Parking - is Johnston Street so can be hit or miss. A must visit. I will return.

Tucked underneath the rail line on Johnston St on Abbotsford, a great little bar/eatery with relaxing ambiance. I really like that this place has two faces. One is the inside with its well appointed bar, cost decor and great dinner menu. The second and my favourite is the beer garden with its own bar, ample covered seating, heaters and Asian bbq station. The food is amazing. Brilliantly cooked fresh ingredients. The calamari was a highlight. The best thing is that it is dog friendly so long as your dog can behave. You can take your dog for a run at Victoria Park then stroll across for a bite and a drink. Well done Dr Morse.

Bit of a let down as this place used to be a favourite of ours! The man serving us was very lovely and knowledgeable and even gave us a drink on the house. However, the high seats are just not a vibe and I think the menu needsss work. The food was good but not the vibe - why have 10 pasta dishes when there is a busy Italian right across the road? My partner and I agreed that they should add some more pub classics to the menu (e.g burgers and parmas) and stay more true to the local vibe rather than the small overpriced meals.

Never have I experienced such appalling customer service from hospitality staff. I ordered the Vegan Tofu Scramble, which was described as coming with scrambled silken tofu, roti bread, Asian greens, mushrooms and bean shoots. What was brought out was roti bread drowning in watery, flavourless tofu, bean shoots, sliced red chilli and coriander leaves. No mushrooms or Asian greens in sight. I ate a small portion of roti bread and bean shoots, but upon recalling the price ($18) decided I needed to say something to the staff. I took my barely touched meal up to the counter and told them that the watery tofu was inedible and that the meal hadn’t come with any Asian greens or mushrooms. I asked if the meal could be taken off the bill or if I could order something else. After this three separate staff members proceeded to give me different versions of “This is how the meal is served”, “There’s nothing wrong with what you were served”, “We’ve been serving this dish for three years,” etc. I repeated that there had not been any mushrooms or Asian greens included in the dish (coriander leaves are not Asian greens). At one point a male staff member went back to the kitchen with my unfinished meal, then came back out with the plate to tell me there was “nothing wrong” with what I had been served (did he think I would take the plate from him and go back to the table and eat it?) Initially there was a complete refusal to rectify the situation by offering me another item on the menu, or to take the meal off the bill. After a lot of resistance the female staff member said they could remake the meal for me “less gluggy”, but by this stage I was so disgusted with the attitude of the three staff members that I put $20 cash on the counter to pay for my sister’s granola and two coffees and walked out. To my disbelief a staff member then chased me and my pregnant sister down the street and demanded the extra payment, stating that they had tried to “rectify” the situation. If the staff at Dr. Morse were at all interested in customer satisfaction that would have attempted to “rectify” the situation as soon as I expressed my dissatisfaction with my meal, instead of trying to tell me there was nothing wrong with it. Completely appalling customer service, and I’m absolutely shocked that we were followed out of the premises by a male staff member. If you care about good quality food along with good customer service, do NOT go...

I usually don't do this but I'm still so shocked after the experience we had dining in yesterday evening. I booked in the beer garden because our older friends feel safer sitting outdoors at the moment. The music in the beer garden was very loud and it was hard having a conversation so I asked if they can turn the music down tiny little bit. The answer I got was: No, we don't turn the music down for customers and that this was even quieter then they usually have it. And we could move indoors if we want to sit somewhere quieter. I could tell the manager was angry about my question. We then ordered food and they gave us the actual menu and told us to order off the QR code. The prices on the 2 menus didn't match. Apparently it was 12 dollar burger night which ended up being 14 Dollars and if you wanted chips it ended up being 17 dollars which is the actual price on the menu. We did not complain. After dinner we were going to get another drink and the waitress walked around to call last drinks at 8.45 pm!!! while their beer garden was still full. We went to sit out front to finish our drinks and when I tried to go back inside to go to the toilet the door was locked! I have to say one thing: The waitress looking after us was really lovely! The manager a big no no. Won't be...

We need to lodge a serious complaint. Booked in tonight (Wed 8th Feb 2017) for 6 people. Ordered food at 8pm. Food did not appear for 45 minutes. Lodged complaint with staff who apologised and blamed their "system". Still no food. lodged further complaints and requests for food which had been paid for. Staff apologised again. Some food appeared after 1 hour plus. Results - 2 people did not get their food and had to ask for refunds. Attempt by some staff to make up for the stuff up by offering some free drinks. Finally at 9.45 a final dish appeared. Manager did not take charge to sort out the stuff up and left it to some staff to try to sort out the situation. The business owner should be seriously concerned about the manager being missing in action. Parting shot by one staff member as we left ( We think this was the manager). She said " Next time don't book here again". The Lonely Planet Guide wisely said " Good restaurants can go bad. Bad restaurants...
