What an amazing F'ing steak special - but it's a gateway drug to their other steaks I think I'll happily become addicted to when visiting my old home town. If it was my local, I'd be bloody stoked. Great beers, full of flavour, well priced and not obnoxious like many "brewpubs". These guys aren't a pub though. Normally Steak Nights can be hit and miss, especially on the West coast. While visiting Melbourne last week, my brother suggested Bodriggy, and the team didn't disappoint. My own chef hat goes off to the kitchen team, they're passionate and skilled. The chef working the Parilla grill needs a pay rise, he managed that section with flare and skill to deliver this chef THE best steak (went for the $30 scotch special) I've had, in memory. Which means the next time I'm in town, I'll be taking the family and other chef's there to enjoy one, two or maybe three of their in house dry aged steaks - because the basic rule of a steak night is to highlight that you do everything that's full price even BETTER- and that 700g T-bone should be phenomenal. Have to mention the bar staff too, they're personable, knowledgeable and the young fella on his first few shifts, was a gun!
This is the longest review I've left for a venue, because it's worth it, and if you're still reading, go and get a beer and a steak at Bodriggy, don't...
Read moreA bittersweet experience at this place.
The place itself is really cool and food was delicious, we tried the "Cochinita Pibil" Tacos, Lamb Shank with sweet potato fries and I totally recommend them if you go. The beer options are also quite good (I really liked the Utropia Pale Ale).
The service, in some parts, ruined it all. Several members of the staff were not very friendly, overall my friends and I found them to have an arrogant attitude, except for the waitresses delivering food at the tables that were really nice.
Around 10+ friends and I were sitting at our table when the manager decided to impose a reservation on it, he then gave us 30 min to move on even though we were still ordering and having food and drinks, not really thinking of leaving soon. We knew from the beginning that our table wasn't booked at all and later we found out from another member of the staff (who asked us to move to the general standing area to where you can't really move because it gets really packed) that the reason to push for this booking was because the upcoming group of people were friends with one of the owners. We (10+ people) ended up squeezing in a table for 6 and got to stay a bit longer. Of course that really ruined the mood of the birthday celebration we were having. We really think that's just...
Read moreMy wife and I recently hosted our wedding reception at Stingray's in Bodriggy. While we've been huge fans of Bodriggy generally (it's great venue for good food, great hangs, and excellent beer) the events and broader Bodriggy team made our special day absolutely exceptional! Our wedding guests keep raving about how amazing the venue was for a reception.
From the moment we arrived to our final packdown everything was absolutely perfect - we couldn't have asked for anything better. The food and drinks flowed well during the reception and when we arrived the venue was perfectly setup! The team behind the bar and in the kitchen did a great job also - the food was perfect and there was plenty for everyone.
Brooke from the events team made everything so easy to organise in the lead up to the wedding - she was so incredibly helpful, courteous, and well-organised that we didn't have to worry about a thing.
We're so stoked we chose Stingray's and Bodriggy for our...
