Food Quality: It has average food. Not much more I can say though as selections do not particularly offer any 'oof' tastes for me personally. I am also quite picky with my coffees and my long black wasn't good tbh. It could just come down to individual preferences though, so I think you should give it a try at least once. Service: Depends on a coin toss. Some days are good, some day you get some vacant, disinterested waitress/waiter. My recent visit my friend though gave off a 'if you've finished then please go' vibe (without the please part). We had been there for 2 hours (includes ordering, waiting, eating, coffee and chats) early Sunday, and did take into consideration if people were waiting or if the cafe was busy, but with only between 6-8 people indoors (including my friend and I), we figured it was okay to just take our time catching up. But we weren't told that there was a sitting time limit (is there, I still don't know) or if we had to go because there were people waiting somewhere. We were just given the bill on a plate and told to pay. Er what? First time that ever happened to me. Pricing: Not expensive. Location: Nice local area. Parking might be hard during peak hours but walking is so much more healthier anyways. Ambiance/Atmosphere: Good feel, but not too spacious. Sorry guys, the 'table for two' chairs hurt my butt and those tables feel too small. But the sofa chairs on the other side are comfortable. Conclusion: I think there are better cafes around with more consistency in coffees and table service. I hope to come back though, but I ain't rushing.

today would be my third time coming here, i've been here once a month since december because it was so good the first and second time i was here. though, this third time has really disappointed me and the group i came with. we couldn't even finish our meal through the utter disappointment we felt and we never leave without finishing our food. we ordered quite a few things today, - pure matcha latte (iced): the first cup that came out and just tasted like milk so we had to ask for it to be remade. - i need a holiday drink (yuzu berry): this was ok, neither the yuzu or berry was prominent. tasted just like a lemonade - vanilla milkshake: eh - iced coffee: was good - turkish eggs: came with borek which felt like a bad combination since the turkish eggs already was heavy, we were expecting it to come with plain turkish bread. that would've been a better matching in our opinion - japanese eggs: very flavourful that it was quite overpowering and salty - dan dan noodles: noodles were over cooked, peanut flavour wasn't strong, and all the textures in the bowl was quite mushy - fish burger: probably the best thing we ordered, overall pretty good no complaints service was slow but understandable since it was quite busy. though, if you do sit in a corner you might be overlooked for a bit. sadly the experience was super disappointing and expensive, will not be coming back. hopefully the quality changes.

If you're looking for a more unique brunch menu, you can give this place a go. They have a range of interesting items on the menu, and we decided to try the XO Folded Eggs and the Dan Dan Noodles. I like Dan Dan noodles so I was excited to try Dumbo's version and I was not disappointed. The ground pork was extra crispy and the peanut sauce paired well with the noodles. It's not something I would typically order for brunch, but I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless. My wife opted for the XO Folded Eggs with a side of grilled mushrooms, and she loved it. The eggs were nice and fluffy and the mushrooms were a great addition. And of course the coffee here was excellent - strong, but not bitter, with that silky smooth texture that's typical of Melbourne-style coffee. Overall, we thought the prices were fair, and the service was great. The location might be a bit odd, but they've made it work, and the fact that it's pet-friendly is a big plus for us! We definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area.

A little disappointed that on the last two occasions I've been in on a weekend the service has been less than impressive. I don't want to say negative things about this place as I've loved it since the day it opened and truly want it to continue to do well. As a local, I have recommended it to everyone unfamiliar with the area. I just find that recently on weekends the service can be a little rude. Inconsistent seating rules, no susbtitiutions to the menu on a weekend (does a simple subtraction really add to the time to prepare it?), too rushed to let you finish a sentence and forgetting parts of your order are just examples from the last two occasions. The food continues to be inventive, the space is inviting and the coffee good but it's losing the sense of community that made it so great to begin with in order to accomodate the weekend crowd. The menu is priced at a usual hipster Melbourne cafe price (aka it's not cheap), so along with the price tag comes the expectation of an enjoyable dining experience not just good food. Half the reason most people pay for brunch is not because they can't make their own avocado on toast but because they enjoy the atmosphere and are willing to pay for the social aspect of dining out. It would be a shame to see this place push away the locals who made it a success in the first place. I suggest they take the lead from places like West 48 who are always willing to be accomodating to simple requests no matter how busy. For now, I think I'll stick...
