Earthly Pleasures Cafe is a delight, hidden in the hills in plain sight. I've walked past this venue countless times and never actually seen or realised that it was a restaurant prior. A friend and i recently attended EPC and sat in the large open grounds afront the gorgeous historic building. Sitting in the garden, shaded by the gently swaying trees and feeling the breeze rolling through, was a particularly beautiful experience in the warmer months. The staff were lovely and were happy to have a bit of banter. Our food was promptly brought to the table after ordering. We each ordered a cheese and tomato toastie, with additional ham/bacon and a side of fries. The price was absolutely reasonable given how delicious all of the food was. Simple food, done very well. Obviously care is taken into the creation of their foods. This has instantly risen to one of my favourite restaurants in Victoria. Would certainly return again. 11/10 Please note: those whom require accessibility ramps, as far as I could see, I don't believe any permanent infrastructure existed. The venue has steps toward the bar/kitchen/indoor area from any way you approach.

I had never been here before. On entering I loved the surrounds, the stone and the brick, the small delights I discovered in the garden and the restaurant itself. I looked at the menu but it was an item on the specials board that caught my eye - potato rosti, pork belly, fried egg, avocado, spinach, tomatoes. I ordered it and finished off my long black coffee while waiting. I was looking forward to my meal. After a reasonable wait the plate was placed in front of me. After about 10mins my plate was taken away again completely empty. My friend had a nice little parcel for her chooks and her little dog! The potato rosti which should have been light and crispy was heavy, thick and tasted doughy, no other flavour. The pork belly was awful. The fat hadn't been rendered. I couldn't eat either of them. The spinach was overcooked but I ate it with my egg and avocado as I was hungry. I was so disappointed! Even though the staff were pleasant and attentive and the surrounds great (which is why I have given 2 stars) I dont think I will bother going back there again. $20 is a lot to pay for one egg and avocado with spinach and tomato!

MAN. I got the eggs florentine because they’re always delicious, and I haven’t been to earthly pleasures in like 7 years; I went with my mom last time and it was just a quick walk in-dine in experience. Either way, I remember the inside being super beautiful and relaxing, and the atmosphere of the whole building just fit my ideal vibe altogether: Vintage, dark, and a fat bloody fireplace. Luckily enough when I did a walk in by myself today I got the table right beside the fireplace, it wasn’t on but I could still smell it as if it were on which was really nice for me. So yeah, got the eggs florentine, wasn’t worried about the price which quite honestly wasn’t even that bad. Hollandaise was amazing, the MOCHA- mate, the mocha was amazing as well, and I am picky with my coffees. It’s just a pretty quaint and peaceful place to go to, even by yourself for a “Me day.” ^_^

Sunday morning, great weather for a drive. Googled great places to enjoy coffee and this one made to the list. So we went, reached at 11am and was attended at 11:04, table given at 11:10 upstairs sitting area. Wait staff arrived after 7-8 minutes, took the order and was advised 20 min wait time. Coffee was served first, nothing special about it though, roasted by AXIL coffee.

Food took more than 30 minutes, few patrons did come after us but were served first, guess the ordering and kitchen staff had no clue what was happening nor did the middle aged man dressed in black tshirt, moving sporadically inside jotting down something on his page which made no sense at all, not sure what was he up to!

I checked with him about the food wait time, he went to the kitchen and advised they are plating. Finally the food came, we ordered Cheeseburger, Banana Bread, Vegan Toastie and Okonamiyaki. Everything was disastrous minus the Toastie, the food wasn’t even warm, forget about hot! To me it seemed like the staff was a bit racist and rude, lacked service etiquettes and of course and had no value for customers coming in. Bless the locals for keeping this business still running, I guess people just visit this to kill time which is cool because the staff is actually playing lost and found with themselves.

Spent $97.60, expectations were supreme but of course were shattered by the ultra low level of service.

Shame on you,...

This is definitely a hidden gem in every way you measure it. Amazing coffee blend; diverse choice of tasty, conscientious, healthy and locally sourced menu options and anyone working in this beautiful building on the most stunning location in Belgrave, i help but feel a calming sense of being connected to nature and the universe in a uniquely lucky way. Full disclosure; I have had a long held friendship with the family that runs this business, and I feel confident in saying, that neither they or I would ever dare compromise the integrity of the public review system and all of the statements I have made regarding Earthly Pleasures cafe has been true and correct to my enjoyable experience and the pride and respect i have for Adam and Sharon in the reputable company they have finally developed into. It has been the customers best interests that have influenced their decisions and without their continued persistence and ridiculous resilience there would be some seriously dangerous people not getting that vital first hit of caffeine to start their day and I'd hate to think of the potential evil that their amazing baristas prevented and the satisfaction they produced to this point of time and will continue to do into the future... God obviously blessed us all and the Belgrave shopping district when this great family gave us Earthly Pleasures cafe and we thank them for...

My mum and I went today and arrived about 11:45 before the lunch rush. We ordered drinks and then food at about 12. We were on a long table and another group sat next to us at about the same time we ordered our food. They then ordered after us. They recv’d their food about 20 mins later. We were still waiting almost an hour later; 3 other groups had ordered, eaten and left! And we were still waiting. As my mum had an appointment for a health condition, I went inside to ask how much longer the wait might be. I spoke to what seemed like the manager, who said he’d find out and then continued to do what he was doing (in what felt like an ignore because I dared ask). So I saw our waitress and asked her, but she just walked off. At that point I’d had enough. It’s not a crime to ask after waiting nearly an hour, some people don’t have the luxury of waiting an hour for lunch. I cancelled our order and went to pay for coffees when I was confronted with “maybe you shouldn’t have asked three people” by the ostensible manager. It was two attempts, the third was to inform the cancellation mate.

Avoid. As a Belgrave local it’s a rude and arrogant establishment which I won’t be going to again and frankly there are nicer places nearby with...
