First of all we'd like to point out that the actual courses were excellent, and a lot of fun was had on the day that we'd arrived (30/3/2019). That being said a major safety issue occurred at the end of our day there. At 3:00pm we made our way to the Red Long Course after being assured by the instructor there that we had had enough time to complete it. However at the end of the course, after taking longer than expected we found one of us was stuck at the final step, a drop from a 15m pole to the ground. It was at this point that we had expected an instructor to turn up and take the final player down, like they were trained to do. Come 5pm, however, not only had no one come to check on us, but the entire park had emptied! No staff, no sign of anyone, reception closed, all equipment gone! Here I'd like to point that if the staff members involved had done their job properly, this whole event would have been avoided. After all, with the FOUR of us still on the course, there were four sets of equipment and one locker key to be accounted for at the end of day count. We were in shock, and it was getting dark and cold as it had been a rainy day and there were still one person stuck on the course with NO WAY OF GETTING DOWN without a staff member, and the other who couldn't leave her by herself! By now, with no other option, emergency services were contacted for a rescue. It was in the midst of all this that the Day Manager finally turned up! After more than 2 hours of being trapped up high in freezing weather, our friends were rescued by the Belgrave Fire department along with the police and paramedics who checked us over for hypothermia. We need Trees Adventure to ensure us that this traumatic experience will never happen again to us or anyone by making the required and necessary changes to courses and training of staff, especially given that a Work Safe investigation is now ongoing. We are aware that the course are open to all ages and we'd have hated for the same event to have happened to anyone else, especially a child. We would like for the management to contact us personally to assure us of these changes and compensate us...
Read moreWe had a bad safety experience with our 9 year son. The place was understaffed and they looked overwhelmed with number of people at place. At the vertical challenge we couldn’t work out how to lock the buckles and the staff looked disinterested in helping us out , people before and after us struggled with it as well. We were left to work it out among ourselves even after making multiple request with the staff standing at one of the other vertical challenges less than 10 metres from us. She finally explained to us in a very rushed way after which it again took us multiple attempts before getting the lock right. With two vertical challenges next to each other my son climbed one of the them and when coming down he swung horizontally and with no control to his descent his back brushed along the wooden challenge while he continued to come down and hit the back of his head just below the helmet. He fell down screaming in pain all the while nearby staff looked at us and turned their back on us. The reason for the wild swing when coming down was because the vertical challenge my son climbed didn’t have its own rope , so he was using the rope from the one next to it , so when coming down instead of coming down straight he first swung horizontally to the neighbouring vertical challenge and then continued his descent by which time his back was rubbing against the wood while he slid down. Manager told us that the vertical challenge was closed and was not supposed to be climbed. There was no signage that the vertical challenge was Closed and the staff nearby made no attempt to let people know of that even though they watched them climbing it right in front of them. It was lucky no one got seriously injured and my son escaped with scratches in his back and head but this could have been really serious. My son was traumatised with the whole experience. The place needs to make sure that there is enough staff at each of the challenges and they are empathetic towards people , especially when Somebody...
Read moreWe had the opportunity to come here both for as a birthday party host (for our 9 year old and 7 year old) and also as a party guest on two separate occasions.
What strikes me most is the amazing service from the entire team and superb attitude! From beginning to the end of the process. Clear cut and organised process. Prompt email replies. The Belgrave Team are great with kids especially with the younger ones (under 7 years). They make harnessing and training fun for the kids.
Kudos to Adam, Jarrah, Felix, Jack and Sam and the others that we’ve met 👍👍 Truly amazing people 🎖🎖🎖
We only had exposure to the Yellow , Green and Blue course. Decent experience and challenges for the given obstacles for the kids in this age bracket. Fear of heights and moving obstacles may be a challenge for some. But with good encouragement and support, the kids will overcome it. Zip line would be the all-time favourite for the kids!
For experienced kids under the age of 7 doing the yellow course may find it too easy or not as challenging for them. Feedback - to create a third yellow course with more difficult obstacles if there was room to do so.
Beautiful, serene and clean surrounding. Great idea for a family/ friends outdoor activity or as a birthday party idea. Decks and gazebos need to be booked (probably more relevant for parties). For non-party guests, best to book online to guarantee a spot of your desired time.
Highly recommend to go to the toilet located at the car park first before heading down to the activity site (especially with younger kids). It’s a fair walk uphill!! Additional challenge for the unfit 😝
Overall, it was a great 2.5 hours of activity and an hour of party food time. We ended on a high note at the end of the day with all kids super excited and not wanting to leave and wanting to come back again 😀 Adults had a great time out...
