If you are a lover of Thai food, please, do not eat here. If I could give a negative score, I would. First course, Vegetarian spring rolls and fish cakes. The fish cakes were like small discs of tastless rubber, no authentic dipping sauce to hide the taste, only regular sweet chilli. The spring rolls were mainstream frozen not fresh, again with no traditional dipping sauce. The Pad Thai was a bowl of mushy noodles and not much chicken. Only the sweetness of sugar, with no hint of Tamarind or spice. There were some beanshoots, but so over cooked, they were unrecognisable. The Crying Tiger was, to put it bluntly, disgusting. The beef was soaked way too long in bicarbonate soda and had the texture of slimey rubber. The sauce was bland, no herbs or heat in the sauce that was promised in the menu. It was so sweet and void of any other flavour. No lime or chilli or fresh flavours, and, again, no dipping sauce. The Pad Preaw Wan which is supposed to be sweet and sour was only sweet and seemed to be cooked in tomato sauce. The pineapple was canned not fresh and the dish was inedible as it was so sweet. The veg tasted frozen with only the capsicum being fresh. The rice, which should be flawless in an Asian restaurant, was wet, overcooked, and un seasoned. Our bill was $99. We only ate 15% of the food delivered to our table. I paid the bill, I also told them it was the worst Thai food I had ever eaten as nicely as possible. All in all, a very...
Read moreJust out for a drive and decided to stop here for dinner not a good choice, we ordered a red curry chicken a massaman and coconut rice, we noticed a few flies buzzing around (* flies are a pet hate of mine) the meal arrived and the rice was totally inedible it looked like it was steamed rice with coconut milk poured through it sticky wet and so so sweet , we asked the waitress to replace it with just steamed rice which she did with no problem. both the curries were ok nothing outstanding . What bothered us most were flies landing on the table on and us and our water glasses we spent the next 30 minutes shooing flies away from our food. In the end we asked the waitress if she could possibly do anything about this, the response was prompt someone from the kitchen brought out a fan and switched it on don't know what that was going to do to the flies except cool them down we gave up and asked for the bill. Going to pay the bill at the reception desk I was greeted by a waitress with a forkful of food in her mouth she was actually eating behind the desk in full view of patrons.Needless to say we will...
Read moreOrdered over the phone tonight. During my call I advised one of the meals ordered was steamed fish with Blackbean sauce. This had to be separated due to a medical condition. The young boy on the phone mentioned it wouldn't be an issue. We picked up the order came home to find out the order was incorrect. Called back and was apologised too. When we went back to the restaurant we questioned about being overcharged but were spoken to rudely by two young female staff. They advised one of the orders they gave us was incorrect and if we want to get our steamed fish we need to go back home and return it.
Overall didn't receive the steam fish with blackbean sauce for my daughter in Law who has a strict medical condition. Instead your employees cared more about being confrontational then to resolve the matter.
We have been going to Emerald Thai for years and due to this behaviour we will not be coming back again. Have lost...
