The Laughing Fox Cafe — Restaurant in Melbourne

🍳☕ Sunday Brunch @thelaughingfoxcafe_emerald Just a 30 minute drive from our place is this gorgeous warm cafe in the heart of Emerald. The staff are friendly and service amazing. Was very busy today with many people being turned away as they had reached the 12 person capacity! We were lucky to get a table and as soon as we did we decided on our meals and ordered at the counter. Today we ordered the Eggs Benedict and the Baked Jacket Potato and a couple of Lattes. The coffee came out first and was very good, my strong Latte was rich and creamy even though we requested the lactose free milk! The Jacket potato was beautifully baked served with melted cheese bacon, sour cream on a bed of creamy coleslaw. The eggs Benedict we got with smoked salmon was also extremely delicious and creamy on top a bed of spinach leaves. We are at The Laughing Fox Cafe at the moment. What can I say about this cafe? From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warmest smile and a friendly hello. We were shown to our table and promptly given our menus. We ordered our food and drinks. They got my girl's milkshake incorrectly but my girl was ok with it and so were we. They apologise profusely, made the correct milkshake for her and gave her and her sister a free cookie. Our food came about 5 minutes later and it was beautiful. I had the Jacket Potato and it was delicious. The warm potato, topped with melted cheese, crispy fried onion and bacon underneath a bed of creamy coleslaw, was the best for a cold winter's day. I wanted to try this place out because of the good reviews and a friend recommended it to me. The food was alright, but the service was shocking. Most of the staff looked like they didn’t know what they were doing half of the time. When we sat down at 12:40pm, we knew what we wanted at around 12:50, and by this time lots of other people were getting seated after us, yet they somehow got their order taken before us. We then got our order taken eventually, however everyone else was still getting their food before us and our food was no where to be seen. The time we received our food? It was nearly 2pm.
