Epping Hotel — Restaurant in Melbourne

Work in hospitality myself. Called in to meet someone after I finished work with a workmate. Friday 26/7/2024 Security and staff are hopeless. They allowed several males in smoking area who were clearly pissed to remain on premises drinking and abusing a female in smoking area . Quite nasty.. and intimidating, three were threatening to belt her. Calling her names.. staff and security allowed this to continue. The woman remained calm tried defusing situation apparently one exposed himself to her.. These guys then mouthed off at me when I pulled them up when my friend I were in smoking area . As we we were leaving the 5 ft nothing scrawny security guard was no where to be seen and I told the staff they’re pathetic for allowing these guys to remain on premises and allow to hem to surround this woman.. Manager and black rhino group really need to look into this and the security you have.. Didn’t feel safe at all so we left . Won’t go back for drinks there after work ever again. Not a nice or safe...

Have been dining at this hotel for over 5 yrs and would normally give it a 4 rating. BUT last night we ordered Scotch fillet. When I started to eat mine it was so tough I would have been chewing for ages. My husband said his was tough too (not as tough as mine). So we swapped steaks to see if we still agreed and we did. We did not want to be there for hrs chewing, so called over a guy (tall Guy) and explained that they were too tough to eat. He took them away and came back saying that the chef pulled them apart and they were not tough. We could not believe it.. We were told we were wrong and they would cook anything else for us but not steak.. We have eaten in many places plus managed some 4 restaurants in motels and have never heard that excuse. Plus His attitude was arrogant. Some times tough steak does happen but after that response we and our friends will be going to the Bundoora...

Absolute disgrace of a place. Waiting over an hour gor a chicken parma. First the risotto that was terrible no flavour tasted just of dry parmesan which may i add who puts that stuff on risotto so take it back for them to refuse to replace or give money back. Then secondly ordered kids nuggets. Rather then informing us that they have ran oit of nuggets they bring something else that our child does not eat. Take it back and they refuse to replace or give money back. Veronica was absolutely rude and is a disgrace to this hotel with her smug attitude. The manager would not even speak to us about the whole ordeal. So overall bad customer service apart from Cas who tried everything to fix the issue, meals terrible and to leave a young child with no food. Seriously. Will never eat there again. And i thought the customer is always right. Epping hotel you...
