Excellent! A hidden gem in Laverton right opposite Laverton railway station. The coffees we had were excellently smooth. However, I will say the Mocha was better than the Soy latté, where smoothness was concerned. The Fried Spiced Cauliflower is a healthier option to regular chips. Though deep fried, I would suggest you try the cauliflower.
The Chicken Burger is very different here. They have a choice of having the marinated chicken thigh (lip-smacking) either fried or grilled. The combination with avocado along with the slaw in a milk bun gives your palate an amazing feel and though your tummy is full, you want more.
The Bombay Toastie is something out of the world. Such a simple sandwich/toastie, but served so elegantly with a delicate balance of tamarind chutney and coriander chutney along with potato crisps, its simply got us all nostalgic.
The Chilli Garlic Prawn Curry with Turkish Bread is the best Prawn Curry I have had in a long time. The balance of garlic and chilli, the use of tomato base and other spices is way too good. Best part, there are more than enough prawns in one serving. There are as many prawns in one serving of this curry, as there would be on a medium to large pizza or more number of prawns than in the prawn curries you get in any Indian restaurants, which are supposed to be shared by 2-3 people. This curry goes really good with the bread, however just 3 pieces of bread do not seem to be sufficient. I really would have loved 2 more pieces of the Turkish Bread.
Overall, an excellent place for a have a coffee or a T/A coffee, Brekkie/Brunch, Lunch or even the brekkie/brunch desserts, which unfortunately, we could not try.
BUT WILL CERTAINLY GO BACK for the treats.
Overall, 4.5...
Read moreI have never written a review before but after my experience at Favor & Grace... I had to!!!!
We first tried this cafe a few weeks ago. Just checking for highchairs and a place to fit a pram, I popped my head it to ask (before unloading the kids and kitchen sink) and was greeted my the most accommodating and inviting staff. A cafe that accommodates for children is 5 star in my books. Parents like myself look for places to go where you aren’t judged for messy children or prams that take up too much space which may jeopardise another table being put to use and of course, good coffee.
Again, we came in for breakfast over the weekend and received exactly the same service. The table beside us was reserved but so I could put my newborn to sleep on the bench seat they gave a pillow and rearranged the reserved table so my family could have more room and table space (which is needed when you have a toddler trying to reach for salt and pepper shakers to catapult across the room). They also have toys to keep the kids entertained at their table... This may result in 3 minutes of peace to quickly skull your beautiful hot coffee before it goes cold.
Food is amazing! Coffee is amazing! Staff are amazing!...
Read moreEating out is a combination of several factors, first and foremost the quality of food and drink being served, the company of good friends and/or family, competent wait staff and finally the ambience. The dining experience at Favor + Grace, in my opinion, strikes a very good balance of these factors. The food served is high-quality, not just in taste but also the presentation. The portions are adequately sized. The coffee is well made(I always end up having more than one cup!) Being a vegetarian, I'm very happy that I'm not short changed. The menu has many options for vegetarians and vegans. I especially love the Vegan Burger and the Vegan Bao(which was on specials one weekend). The Pasta, Pea and Edamame Fritters(which was another weekend special) and the Mushroom Medley are incredible!
F+G is also great for cyclists in the west. I stop there for my mid-ride coffee when riding the Foreshore trail(Altona), I take the Laverton Creek track and head to F+G for a quick coffee and a brownie, before riding back.
The owners and the staff are friendly, competent and non-intrusive. I highly recommend Favor + Grace for your food, coffee and good...
