Disappointed as I have been looking forward to coming here for ages. Made a booking at around 7am for 10:30am, which online stated there were still about 7 spots available. We booked for the dine and paint. We arrive at 10:30am to be essentially scolded by the lady at the counter and told that we shouldn’t book the morning of as they don’t have time to check bookings and accomodate. They did however give us a spot. We sat at the table for 30 minutes waiting to be told what to do for the painting, whilst watching other walk ins get attended to and given the stuff needed. Also weird considering we felt like we were in trouble for booking the morning of, and they were happily accepted walk ins for the same service. After 30 minutes I had to ask about the painting, to which the response was they “forgot”. So that was 30 of our 90 minutes gone doing nothing but waiting. We were then moved off our table where we had set up the paints, except we were expecting to pick up everything by ourselves and take it to the smallest table crammed by the window. The table we were moved off had a reservation put on it for 12pm, when by this stage it was around 11am. They did however give that space to yet another walk on who didn’t order food or paint, just two coffees, whilst we ordered two meals, 2 drinks and had our sculptures and paints on the smallest table in the place. Very strange as I would have been more understanding if that space was going to a bigger family or something but it wasn’t. It was clear the cafe was also clearing out a bit at this point with numerous more suitable tables we could have been seated at. No one gave us any table water with our meals or checked how we were doing until it was clear they were trying to move us on (giving us take home boxes when we were still painting and saying we need to leave soon). Also was not given any grace time for the 30 minutes we technically missed out on, so the paintings were more rushed than desired. Very disappointing as this was supposed to be a cute date with my fiance and I and we just felt awkward and like we were an inconvenience for visiting the store. Also pricey for what it is, half the plaster options had broken pieces and combined with the bad customer service,...
Read moreI highly recommend visiting this place! My partner and I stumbled upon Flinch while waiting on a concert.
Firstly, the service is amazing. We were served by two ladies, one had black hair and we unfortunately didn't get her name, and the other was Ash. They were both so kind, warm and attentive. They were just very sweet people and this was a pinaccle of the experience. Secondly, the food was great. We ordered souffle pancakes and they were extremely fluffy and soft. Thirdly, there were a lot of choices for painting. They had so many Pokemon and Sanrio options, which was so fun.
For these things alone, I'd rate the place 5 stars. If it was possible though, I'd rate them even higher because of how accomodating they were. We actually showed up near closing time AND when there was an event being held. They were really transparent about this and I asked about how much time we'd have and if we were still allowed to paint. They were so gracious about this when they didn't have to be and let us order from the kitchen and stick around for a couple of hours to paint. This was super kind of them, and our visit here ended up being a huge highlight of our day.
Thanks so much to the...
Read moreFlinch Coffee & Play is one of a kind and I recommend everyone to visit, i tell you why.
Firstly, the atmosphere is cosy with a some playfulness to it.
Secondly, the food and drinks are very reasonably priced and taste to go with it.
Had the Big Brekkie and boy this was better than i expected. The pancakes were the star of the show. Slightly crunchy on the outside and soft and sweet on the inside. Complimented with very generous amount of bacon and fried egg with running yolk which i preferred and with a side of whipped cream and REAL honey which takes the pancakes to the next level.
Also, had the special, Curry with Tempura prawns, which the egg can be changed to poached which was cooked very nicely. The curry was your run of the mill Japanese curry you expect and the tempura was juicy inside and very nice crunchy tempura outside.
For drinks, had the matcha/coconut float very nice matcha compare to other places ive been too and the Adult Chocolate which was sweet and rich with a hint of Baileys.
I will definitely come back to try their other dishes, recommended for all kids and adults as there is something for...
