Mountain Dew, Oreo
Vegan Yes: Mountain Dew the drink, and Yes: Oreo the cookie This flavour satisfies many a strange cravings. It’s demographic seems to be pinned at the man in his thirties, who sports a beard and is still twelve years old at heart … it’s also a whack option for the vegans. We think it’s channeling ultra-marathon runner cross gamer kid. It’s made on a coconut cream base, so it begins with coconut undertones, followed by the lemon-y, lime-y, Mountain Dew-y flavour, and then lastly, that sweet chocolate-y Oreo crunch This flavour is currently not in our flavour rotation at our Smith St store. It will be back again one day, we’re just experimenting with other flavours for now.
Macadamia Milk, Turkish Delight
Vegan Cascade into a romantic ocean of historical madness This flavour is made with macadamia milk and macadamia oil, actual Turkish Delight blended, and freshly house roasted macadamia halves thrown in to the mix for crunch. This flavour is currently not in our flavour rotation at our Smith St store. It will be back again one day, we’re just experimenting with other flavours for now.
Lychee, Lemon, Lime And Bitters Sorbet
GF Vegan A warm light pink colour, a complex and refreshing palate An all time Fluffy Torpedo favourite. Lychees with lemon juice, lime juice and Australian bitters.
Raspberries, Balsamic Sorbet
GF Vegan Two forms of tangy, neutralised sweetness, then swings back and forth with irreverence Raspberries and Balsamic Vinegar, perfectly balanced.
Salted Lemon, Lemonade Sorbet
GF Vegan Mildly salty, bringing out many flavours which are typically hiding behind the wall of sour Like a traditional lemon sorbet, but intensified.

Fluffy Torpedo Ice Cream and Gelato Shop is a haven for those who crave the unconventional. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with an explosion of scents and colors that set the tone for an extraordinary flavor adventure. The ambiance is vibrant and quirky, with decorations that reflect the shop's commitment to creativity and innovation.

The menu is a bold testament to this ethos, featuring a myriad of flavors that defy traditional ice cream norms. Each flavor is a daring experiment, designed to challenge your palate and take your taste buds on a wild ride. The flavor names alone are enough to pique your curiosity and entice you to step out of your comfort zone.

During my visit, I opted for the Spicy Pineapple Coconut Vinegar Gelato. This flavor was an intriguing blend of sweet, tangy, and spicy elements that created a harmonious yet unexpected taste experience. The creamy texture of the gelato paired with the sharpness of the vinegar and the kick of spice made for a truly memorable treat. It was a delightful surprise that showcased the shop's ability to balance complex flavors in a way that both surprises and delights.

Here are seven reasons why you should embrace the unique offerings at Fluffy Torpedo and why their distinctive flavors are a positive departure from the ordinary:

Expand Your Palate: Trying new flavors broadens your taste horizons, allowing you to appreciate a wider range of culinary experiences. Adventure in Every Bite: Unique flavors add an element of surprise and excitement to eating, making each scoop an adventure. Break the Monotony: Unconventional flavors offer a refreshing break from the usual vanilla and chocolate, keeping things interesting. Culinary Creativity: Experiencing innovative flavor combinations can inspire your own culinary creativity and experimentation. Conversation Starters: Weird flavors make for great conversation topics, perfect for breaking the ice or sparking lively discussions. Cultural Exploration: Many unique flavors are inspired by global cuisines, offering a delicious way to explore different cultures. Personal Growth: Stepping out of your comfort zone by trying new things can boost your confidence and willingness to embrace change.

Fluffy Torpedo Ice Cream and Gelato Shop earns a well-deserved five stars. Their commitment to pushing flavor boundaries resonates deeply with those of us who revel in the extraordinary. As someone who thrives on the freaky and the unusual, I can confidently say that Fluffy Torpedo delivers an unparalleled ice cream experience. Five stars because I am a freak, and I like freaky flavors because I'm a freak. I like to freak it, so I get freaky flavors, and that is why it is five stars. Fluffy Torpedo is the ultimate destination for those who dare to...

Fluffy torpedo has been in my sights since last few months and finally the day 4th Feb 2024 arrived when we decided to drive from South East side to this place on a hot day (temp did touch 40*C 🥵) couldn't have asked for better weather 😆

We got in the place with our munchkin and the place wasn't too busy but had few patrons prior us. I was in awe of the flavors even before as O couldn't appreciate the prerogative taken by management/owner of Fluffy Torpedo who dared to venture out some of the most exciting flavor of ice cream gelato and made it so damn yummy 😋.

However the ocean cream was picture perfect, temp was right, texture was too good and it was a respite....The fact that I am still feeling the taste in my mouth while writing this review shows my love for the sweet scoop experiment which I absolutely appreciate and recognize the hard work out behind the scene by entire team, hats off 🤠

However this absolutely give star scorer place took me by shocker is that the server who was serving me was visibly annoyed and it was a screaming out loud expression on her face which I was contemplating what possibly is going wrong.... Obviously Its a norm to accept sub standard service these days but if I can be honest, was expecting at least a smile and a plain and simple Hi,how's it goin etc but that wasn't a part of what I ever experienced there 😭

The fact is that when you got award winning stuff to offer , why would you not complement it with genuinely plain old warm customer service or at least acknowledge the customer with the basics of CS . My love for the hard work out in behind the doors to create these amazing ice cream is far more than the longest straight face of my server but I would like the management to assess what can be done to make it better in terms of customer service.

I may return someday (maybe soon 🤔) to have one of the best creations of ice cream 🍨🍦 I can ever think of but would sincerely hope to see smiling staff , at least be...

I recently visited Fluffy Torpedo, and I have to say, it’s a fantastic spot! While I wouldn’t claim it’s the absolute best ice cream I’ve ever had, it’s definitely one of the most unique and flavorful experiences I’ve had. The variety of flavors they offer is incredible – it really makes you rethink what ice cream can be! You won’t find the usual peanut butter or pistachio here, but instead, you get to try wild combinations like Vegemite White Chocolate or Blue Cheese Roasted Fig Brown Sugar Jam. And that’s just the beginning!

I tried the Chocolate Mug Cake and Vegemite White Chocolate. The Chocolate Mug Cake is absolutely amazing! It’s rich dark chocolate mixed with creamy ice cream, giving you the feeling of eating cake rather than just ice cream. But be warned, the chocolate flavor is so intense that it’s best to enjoy it on its own, as it can overpower other flavors. The Vegemite White Chocolate was also great – creamy and milky with a mild sweetness. It’s not too sweet, which I really liked.

What truly made the experience stand out, though, was the service. The girl working there was so sweet and patient. She took the time to chat with me, figure out what I like, and suggest options. It really made the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable.

The store itself is pretty cool too, with lots of interesting art and details that make it feel unique. And the waffle cone? So much better than most other places I’ve been to – crispy and fresh.

If you're in the area and looking for something different, I highly recommend checking out Fluffy Torpedo. It’s a must-visit if you’re up for trying out some wild and creative flavors. I’m already looking forward to going back and trying...

Fluffy Torpedo is a quirky, innovative and sustainable ice cream shop located on Smith Street in Fitzroy (and soon - Sydney Road, Brunswick!!). Their aim is to create wealth for effective charities, inspire creativity and provide delicious experiences. They donate 50% of profits to effective charities like @thelifeyoucansave - you can even pick up their free book in store. 🙏🏽 The location was designed and built by the owners, the pine wood found in the walls and floor of the previous tenancy was recycled and reused to make the furniture. The floor consists of exactly 200kgs of sour strap lollies, hand laid over five days, then covered with epoxy resin. 🍭 You can find the menu hanging on the wall, each flavour with a short, witty description, embroidered onto its own piece of Victorian linen (upside down plaques indicate they are sold out). Taste as many flavours as you like, from stainless steel sticks, the staff are extremely patient and happy for you to try as many as you like! 🤭 We were mind blown by how well their interesting combinations worked! You probably won’t shut up about how much it tastes like the real deal the entire time you’re having it. My favourites were the Orange and Poppyseed Cake Batter, Real OJ and Mount Zero EVOO and Buttermilk Pancakes Maple Syrup. These were tame selections, i also liked Miso Cinnamon White Chocolate and Salted Chilli Pineapple Coconut Vinegar Sorbet. You can also grab a 5- pack of their Choc Tops! 🤤 Plenty of vegan options too. Easily in my top 3 favourite ice cream spots in Melbourne now, I’ll be a regular. You can actually submit flavour combinations on their website and if they make it, they’ll send you free tubs! 🍨
