Gipps Street Canteen — Restaurant in Melbourne

I don't know what happened to the staffs that used to be really good at his job but since he and some of others gone the cafe isn't as good as before. They don't know what they are doing, the quality of coffee and food went down, not to mention the service got poor. I was the only customer this morning, the waitress charged wrong fee for my food, wrong order, then the other guy also kept asking the same question. Got my ham and cheese toasties with overload of butter on top after 10 mins wait. Did I mention I was the only customer when I got there?? My co worker warned me before the service and quality isn't the same as 6 months ago but I gave it a try...

I initially walked right by this eatery and I’m so glad I went back to satisfy my curiosity. Not only some very delicious breakfast and lunch offerings but the only place outside the South Melbourne Market where you can get South Melbourne Spring Rolls! Everyone has the South Melbourne Dim Sims but this place has both! And if the international cuisine doesn’t grab you, Robbie, the proprietor, will!! Robbie is such a warm and friendly guy that I had to dine in. My only disappointment was that I only discovered this gem on the last day of my 2 week Collingwood visit. Hi Team,

I am extremely disappointed with my recent order placed on Monday. The chicken meal was advertised at $9, yet I was charged $23 on my card. This is unacceptable. On top of that, the food was of very poor quality – the chips and burger were completely soaked in oil and inedible. I had no choice but to throw them away.

This was both unexpected and disappointing, and I would appreciate it if you could look into:
